Looking forward to this Utah/San Diego State game tonight. Oregon/Baylor tip off too late.

It's actually a game now. Will be interesting to see who wins.

Looks like Utah will get a nice win over SDSU.

It should be quite a battle between ASU & Wazzu for the Pac 12's basement this season.

ASU's game against Kentucky next month will probably be more embarrassing than UCLA's game last year.

ASSU's gym is 2/3 empty....embarrassing.

Was half full for the opener against Sacramento state...and that was for a season opener with a new coach and regime and life being blown into the program. But since they lost that game it will be a struggle for them to ever be more than half full unless they are hosting Arizona or cal or Utah this year.

USC with a nice 101-90 win over Monmouth.

I can't wait to see Trier vs. the curtain of distraction. So sick of the media slobbering over it.

Agree. The joke is on them though - the only distraction going on is from the garbage basketball being played by the home team for
the last 3-1/2 decades.

Utah looks like a tourney team again this year, outlasting San Diego State last night; consistent winning seasons are the next step for that program, kinda like it was for Colorado 3 and 4 years ago. Speaking of consistency, if it's one thing Old Fart has brought to SDSU besides winning consistently, it's depth. SDSU has about 10 guys that can contribute right away. Chol still plays like his garbage-time 2012 time with us. Lots of passes bouncing off his hands.

Oregon over Baylor. Going to be an interesting race this year. We may need to go small to handle their press and traps. They beat Baylor with turnovers.

First time in a while the Pac 12 (outside of Arizona) hasn't completely embarrassed itself in the first few days of the season. Colorado took Iowa state to the wire, Utah over sdsu, Oregon over Baylor.

UCLA and ASSU didn't exactly set the world on fire, but I hear what you're saying.

In any previous season, Utah and Oregon would've lost and Stanford would've lost in ot to green bay.

yeah, pretty good night for the pac! bigger games next week, we'll see how our conference does then.

ucla will be fine come feb - too much talent on their roster, despite alfraud. asu, gtfo.

Took a while for Utah to pull away from an inferior Texas Tech. Who from Arizona gets to guard the big dumb ogre that is Jakob Poeltl? He's exactly the type of player that will get every whistle and rack up fouls against Tarc.

They are in far worse shape than we would be thats for sure. Looks like they struggled with a 2-3 zone last night too. Pac 12 coaches should be practicing the hell out of zone for us and Cal

They struggled with the zone a lot more than we have so far. And this was against an East Carolina team that, according to the announcers, was picked to finish 8th in the American this year. Yet they turned the ball over 15 times to East Carolina's 10! I kept waiting for Cal's athleticism to take over but they just couldn't put these guys away. Almost any halfway decent team would've beat them last night.

We havent seen a good one yet. Boise State busted out with theirs when the game was still close and I admittedly got worried. They got out if it fairly quickly though. We have the outside shooters to handle it, and Anderson would have a field day with the offensive rebounds, but we Have historically struggled agains zone for the most part and I would throw it out there until you show me you can beat it. Cal struggling with it makes total sense based on their personnel

Good win for ASU. Anytime you can beat a p5 team is good. Now they should get curb stomped the rest of the ooc.

Eh wins over San Diego, Monmouth, cal state Northridge and new Mexico(who are a combined 7-8) at home don't impress me that much.

New Mexico was 3-0 with all wins double digits, including their rivalry game with NMSU who typically is no pushover. USC beat them by 8. USC did what UCLA couldn't and beat Monmouth comfortably, and they've crushed everyone else. I'm looking at how they are beating these teams. They got Wichita State next so that will be a great test. Not declaring them a possible sleeper to be a top 2 or 3 team, but they look like a team that will present problems for the top of the pac.

I love how every time ASU is down 3 Hurley always has a player shoot a 3. Marquette wasn't even that great from the line. At least he didn't take the clock all the way down this time.

Was listed at 225 entering college. Not far off from Stanley.

By the way, I don't think SJ had a bad jumper. It is a decent comparison. Cal just lacks everything else we had.

Yeah, UCLA looks terrible. They may give up 60 in a half.

Apparently shooting 45% fg and 37% 3ptfg as a college freshman isnt a good shooter. But hey, if Brown adds 17 percentage points to his 3s he can catch Stanley.

Just looking at the Devils' stats from their game against Marquette, they shot 37.7% from the field and 22.2% from three point land.

Against NC State: 42.6%, 26.1%

So for those that have seen the Devils play, is Hurley trying to get them to be a defensive first type team or...???

Haha, Stanley's jump shot was just fine. It was him going one-on-four, driving the lane straight into a defender, and getting dumb offensive fouls that were his main issues on that end of the floor.
