Moot point. ASsU may be out of the top 10 and we will be in. Which suits me just fine.
I doubt if ASU falls out of the top 10, especially losing to a ranked team on the road. I hope the Cats move into the top 10 but it is iffy. Voters will see the 3 losses.

A few idiot voters will be sure to put us around 20th. And no, ASU should not fall out of the top 10.

Just keep winning. On to Utah & Colorado.

Yep, but their leading scorer, Hogg, has been suspended along with a couple of others....not sure that would have saved them though....they are really crapping the bed now.

If I was a smoker I’d want a cigarette now, lol. Love it.....KU showing just how AFH is not much of an advantage. Think I’ll go to their boards and feast on their tears for a bit.

The Pastner Jackets take down #15 Miami.

In other news, I have no idea why Miami was ranked 15th.

There's parity this season. And by that I mean most teams aren't very good. I expect Duke to be dominant by March and think we will be their only legit competition if all goes according to plan.

MSU is legit and Izzo can prep a team for the tourney. They'll be there at the end. Duke beat them because Allen went all world from 3, but I don't think Duke carries an advantage over MSU.

Watch the last few seconds of the Cal Poly basketball game. You probably noticed on the chryon during the UA game they were down 21-2 to UCSB at one point.

Talk about some pressure free throw shooting.

No idea why this wasn't a foul on the Gaucho. He ran right over this Mustang. I actually love this inbounds play by the Mustangs, to screen the guy defending the throw in. No idea why we don't see it more.

I transferred from Arizona to UCSB after my sophomore year, but my fandom was too fully owned by Arizona to ever get into UCSB basketball, even back when we were good. Maybe Pasternack will turn things around.

Merkin, do you follow Cal Poly basketball?

Hey Merkin, that confused the crap out of me too.....How on earth was that not a foul? He ran that Dude right over...I’m assuming the ‘protected zone’ doesn’t count in this case. Then it would have been 2 shots instead of 3 for that other call, correct? Talk about a game changer.....you get screwed on the first noncall but then gifted another one with greater benefits....then again that first Dude might have been a lower % FT shooter as well as he looked bulky IMO.

Again, wild close of the game!

If I was a ref, I wouldn't call a foul on that. The screen was effective. If it's set to solicit a foul call, then I don't like the play. The screen effectively gave the inbounder room to pass so I'd call it an effective screen with no foul and let it go. I don't like plays set up to force a call from a ref.

Hey Zonagrad, thanks for the comment. So is this a rule that allows Refs the discretion to call this? I thought anything this clear would necessitate a foul but it sounds from you that the Refs have the discretion to noncall if it’s an obvious attempt to draw a foul?

We started seeing this play a bit last year, there 3 or so non conference games that were decided because of a foul call there. Pretty much all the talking heads hate it (I agree), but it's been done a couple more times this year. I 100% agree with zonagrad, that by letting it go, it just becomes an effective screen and leaves the game in the hands of the players.

If that's a foul, then every set screen is a foul. You're not doing it right if you set a screen and then fall over when the defender runs into you.

We lost to Colorado on the road.
ASU also lost to Colorado.
Kansas got their shit pushed in by ASU at home.
Arizona beat ASU handily at home.

By the laws of transitive property your shit talk has been rendered null and void since Kansas would lose to Colorado by 25 at Phog Allen (if my calculations are correct, which they always are since I’m a very stable genius).

Yep, although that stretch included a crazy circus come from behind loss to LSU (2 Crazy and incredible 3 pointers with 16 seconds left) to lose to LSU by one and some injuries along with leading scorer (and immature dumba##) DJ Hogg 3 game suspension.

Not trying to give them an excuse but they are far from being counted out, will make the NCAA Tourney and will make a good run IMO....they just aren’t a Top 10 Team for sure. That said, they need to right their ship ASAP.

Virginia is schooling Duke early. They look better than Purdue right now. Of course the game is at Duke and it will still be difficult to win there. BTW their defense is legit. Tony Bennett shows again why he is a good coach.

I know Miller has a tendency to use his TOs quickly but How many of us would go apeshit if Miller didn't use a timeout until 6 seconds left in Overtime and ended in the game with 3 in his pocket in a home loss?

I haven't watched them much this year, but damn this is the definition of a fundamentally sound team. Protect the ball, great ball fakes and crisp passes, movement without the ball/backdoors. They have less talent and are much smaller than Duke but are so well coached and play so efficient it doesn't matter. Impressive.

And then Virginia can't hit anything. Their offense completely stopped for half of the half. But again their defense hasn't dropped off at all, and that is why they are ranked #2.
