DG *HAD* to give that to lure even a coach of Alford's caliber over. He just signed a 10 year extension. He wasn't moving without assurances.

The scary thing is, if not Alford, then who? (no, not Marshall)
No
Yes

Watching Stanford @ UCLA this morning here in Bangkok. I can't believe how lame and devoid of atmosphere Pauley is! Sounds like they are playing in a High School gym :(

Pathetic and not good for the Pac12....

That's how pretty much every ucla home game has been for 4 years unless a couple thousand Arizona fans buy tickets

Man, how frickin' lame UCLA fans are.....you see all these dynamic home environments at other 'Blue-Blood' programs vs. 'Pathetic Pauley'......I am starting to really dislike them for this main reason alone.

I take back my previous assertion that we don't need a strong UCLA program though....the more programs that succeed in the P12, the better off we are IMHO.....currently it looks like us, Utah as the only Top 25 Teams this year :-(

It seems like there seems to be a fairly concerted effort to keep the ball out of Alford's hands and/or Alford has been told to give it up when he has it.

By the time Alford's run out of town, it's going to be really hard deciding which Bruin coach I liked more, Lavin or SA.

Oh, it's worse than that. Just having to play UCLA weakens our strength of schedule, which in turn negatively impacts other key metrics/indices.

Gotta give CSA some props, he is one positive optimistic guy after the game and losing streak. He sounded genuine, but don't think many could be that encouraging after such a streak. Whether he stays or not, gotta support the team and him while they're there (if UCLA fan).

3k fans walked through the turnstiles...and immediately turned around and walked out.

Hopefully your estimation is a bit better on attendance than it was on players height ;)

And that's just ridiculously too much for a Los Angeles area worker to pay for a UCLA game?

I I don't pay more than 30 for any sporting event when I can watch it for free.

At the risk of being ridiculed by exposing too much of my private life, but having bought a house that isnt in a terrible location, living on two teacher salaries, and expecting the first kid over the summer, I chose to stay home and work around the house until game time.

Hope that's cool with you ;)

Actually that's quite commendable where teachers can actually afford a home and in a nice area.

If tickets at McKale were ever $40 on StubHub I would go to almost every game. But your situation and choice make perfect sense to me.

$40 in LA is more like $20 in Tucson, so a more apt corollary would be tickets to the U of A game are $20 and the arena is still only 1/2 full.

No, no it wouldn't. But then again, Arizona fans care about their basketball team. So you got one pretty big difference right there.

I don't think Alford being outcoached by another Pac-12 coach is much of a surprise anymore.

Meanwhile, Bryce had another stellar night of being a point guard (it's what he does) needing 15 shots to score 18 points.

Agree that as much as it is not being surprised by Tinkle it's not being surprised by Alford and UCLA as well.

Bill Walton really likes what he's doing. Defense and toughness are boring. This is precisely what they requested in changing coaches.

Absolutely not. Not even sure he's a better program manager at this point which I thought was his strong suit when he was hired.
