r Nobody ever said he was going to win the Pac with it, but it's better talent than Herb was getting. Shannon Evans is a big pick up. Watching Hurley will be interesting.

Hurley at least ramping up the schedule. Helps conference perception when they lose to good teams.

Maker is the only top 50 recruit that hasn't committed. 247 sports lists him as a heavy Asu lean ahead of Kentucky and Kansas. Biggest recruit ever by Asu?

So shady if he goes to Asu though. Was never considering Asu at all until about 3 weeks ago. But Hurley knows his aau coaches or something. Hurley already seems slimy and corrupt.

Why make a pretense about why Maker might go to ASU? There's the one incredibly glaringly obvious one, where Hurley offers a job to his decisionMaker.

It is exactly what it appears.

UA would never settle for a one and one without a home game in return.

Remeber UK's Bahamas trip last year? ASU is turning into Portland State.

http://www.courier-journal.com/story/sp ... /21806935/

UK's own team expenses were eye-opening, too, from coach John Calipari's $1,550-per night Atlantis hotel suite to a $23,855.50 reception dinner that included a band and an open bar.

The total cost of the trip was $792,845.68. By comparison, an expense report acquired in an open records request showed that North Carolina's Bahamas trip last summer cost $154,825.91. Portland State, meanwhile, paid a total of $37,714 for its seven-night stay.

"I needed professional-level teams," Wildcats coach John Calipari said this season. "I needed men. I needed experienced, physical guys that knew how to play. That's what this team needed, which is different. That's why most teams don't do what we've just done."

UK offset some costs by providing flights, lodging and tickets for 57 UK boosters who donated $6,000 apiece, contributing a total of $347,047.30. UK also received $17,962.28 in ticket revenue. Even with those adjustments, the final expenses were $431,836.10, nearly three times more than North Carolina's entire trip.

That's OK. If they get Thon Maker, he can play three positions at the same time : C, PF, PG. Maybe SF too, not sure. So they only need him and 2 other guys.

ASU attendance is at 4,674 avg. for three games.

Grand Canyon University is averaging 5,421 after four games.

Amazing lack of support for a school with the largest enrollment in the West.

Is there a "like" button on this board because I'm enjoying all the posts. Hating on ASU is so fun and easy, even a child can do it.

What makes it even more enjoyable are some of my ASU friends and co-workers know how pathetic they are. And others are in absolute denial and are celebrating Hurley's antics as if he made some kind of bold, protesting statement that "we're not gonna take it anymore!!!!"

Oh, ASU. You are the gift that keeps on giving.

Thanks Cats101.....not surprising though. You'd think with such a huge hire, serious recruiting momentum, and a good OOC record that their fanbase would be more supportive.....especially after all the years of moaning about Love & Herbie.....but then again, it's ASSU and doesn't surprise me.

Am going to love it when Hurley bolts in a few years for a better gig.....LMAO.

I would bet anything they had similar threads in 2008 or so when Sendek arrived and had Harden: "He will be the one to turn this rivalry around, and before we know it they'll be second fiddle to us." Hell, I'm sure they said the same thing about Rob Evans when he brought in Ike Diogu.

Now they're cheering their coach for getting kicked out of a 6-point game, after cutting that lead from 16 just a few minutes before. The delusion is strong with asu fans.

Yes, we've seen this movie before. I have to admit, it's entertaining. Especially when the ASU noise reaches its zenith and then is slapped down by the reality that Arizona Basketball owns this state and always will.

Yes Carolina, and it's a really entertaining movie, lol.....This time I predict a different ending.....I suspect 'Premature Ejection Man' will get some good recruits, build a decent lil program then bolt after a few years for a better gig. This will break their hearts and drive them crazy when their subsequent HC 'lives down' to the normal level of ASU.....bottom dweller of the P12 :-).
