Cuonzo is like the cook who bakes the most amazing biscuits you've ever had and serves them with a bowl of yak spit.
Re: Pac-12 game thread
Cal, you had one job. Sigh.
Re: Pac-12 game thread
Cal, you deserve to watch the tournament from home for that one.

Re: Pac-12 game thread
Thanks for nothing cal.
Re: Pac-12 game thread
Like Spaceman Spiff said earlier, Cal was just afraid. Outside Bird and Rabb, they are not conditioned to take big shots. The worst was Sammy taking the ball off a pretty good behind-the-back dribble that gave him the right hand drive, getting to the mid block with defense scrambling, having either an easy layup or runner with a likely foul as Oregon was chasing, then jumping in the air and twisting to throw a pass back to the top of the key which would get picked off by a team of 8th graders. He used to be a kind of cocky dude...now, he looks scared to do anything but get the ball to Bird/Rabb.
There were like 3 possessions like that late, but the aforementioned was the most blatant ball-shrinking.

Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

It's not like it's a secret that UCLA is at the Marriott. Literally every visiting football, baseball, softball, men's and women's basketball team in the last 13 years has stayed there.Jefe wrote:

I know Oregon State football stayed at the far east side Hilton on Broadway a few years back - not sure if any other teams use it.

Damnit Stanford!!! Both of the Bay schools had a good chance to knock Oregon down and failed.....interesting to see how Furd has improved though...but too little too late
Re: Pac-12 game thread
2 game winning shots for Oregon in the last 30 seconds. Oh well. Win tonight and we'll be fine.

USC just completely crapped the bed at ASSU....huge choke job down the stretch. Smh.
Re: Pac-12 game thread
Their tournament hopes are suddenly diminishing with 4 straight losses. 21-8 now. Gotta sweep the Washington schools to hope to get in

What's with the huge beards and pachuli oil in Eugene? These people don't care about college basketball. They care about lentils and stuff like that.

Can someone please tell the University of Washington that they do not need to tank to get the top-rated player in the country?

Guess we know now why we only got 4 teams in this year with both Utah and Cal flaming out early in the NIT......sad representation. Now it's up to us, Oregon, USC and UCLA to REPRESENT!

Arizona Christian is like D3, aren't they?
There's probably a couple guys here that could have played for them.
Re: Pac-12 game thread
What kind of coach leaves a starter in during garbage minutes in an exhibition against a DIII opponent? I think Pima C.C. could beat Arizona Christian.
Re: Pac-12 game thread
Arizona Christian isn't even an NCAA school. They are NAIA. 781 students attend the school. Located in a like Junior high sized campus on Cactus road in Phoenix.

Re: Pac-12 game thread
I used to play against them on the playground back when they were Southwestern Bible College and coached by Paul Westphal. And no, I couldn’t remotely compete against them.zonagrad wrote:What kind of coach leaves a starter in during garbage minutes in an exhibition against a DIII opponent? I figure they throw up a lot of prayers and try to convert their free throws.UAEebs86 wrote:gumby wrote:Shannon Evans drops 50.

Re: Pac-12 game thread
Arizona Christian is so small, it plays 8-man football.
I mean, the AD down there and I go way back, but it's not even close to Pima's level. DeAndre Ayton would beat the Firebirds by himself, easily.

Re: Pac-12 game thread
As seen on TV.
SC squeaks by North Dakota State. Melton held out due to investigation. Ran a lot of zone.
Oregon has a lot of athletes, but definitely smaller (no Bell and Boucher). Will run zone press and retreat into zone against us.
Don't think Stanford has the guards to be a threat.
Cal, UW and WSU just not very talented. Huskies will zone us (and everyone), but they're struggling with it.

An exceptionally ugly game going on in SLC right now.
