4 digits worth! Hopefully it's $10.00, and not $1000.

Surprised.

Actually not, Coach K decided who he wanted in that position. Weaker hands.

It was never Pitt's decision.

How the hell did Coach K decided who Pitt hired?

Only thing Coach K had in this in any way was that he decided that it will not be Capel after him at Duke. It will be Hurley if he steps up the next few years or Jon Scheyer. And that only lets Capel become available to look elsewhere not making him the Pitt coach automatically.

Just say you had it wrong.

So Miller is our coach for the foresable future. I am praying it works out well but am not optimistic. Hopefully I will be proven wrong as I would gladly eat crow if Miller comes back with a vengeance and brings in strong recruits and leads our team back to the Final Four.

Capel wanted that job? Career killer IMO. Bosy are you serious that you think K had any input in that hire? He may have been called and asked his thoughts on a candidate but in no way was he told (he Pitt AD) who to hire. That is comical to think that

Bosy has said that K and Roy control the ACC. No suprise they allwed the Capel selection.
They didn't pick Capel, they just gave the approval.

Coach K is the most powerful force in college basketball, without a doubt.

He got his ass spanked by Miller and is intimidated by this "young gun" (see the 30 for 30 on Calipari with Chaney?)

Miller isn't part of that good ol boy club (Tony Bennett is welcome because he's a quiet gentleman)

What a surprise that Capel, a Coach K'er, got the job

You know why Hurley didn't take it? Because he's a potential successor to K, so they throw Capel there in order to avoid Miller and real competition with K, and in return, K will send Capel recruits that they move on from. Win/Win

There are elements of power and politics in the conference with the most influential power in the industry.

Deal with it.

Short drive from Cincy to Louisville. Good decision for Mack.

Butler and Xavier are always getting poached. They need someone to stay like Mark Few.

Good pick up for Lville. They’ll get to their next FF before we will.

Louisville is on probation for hooker gate and then their head coach got busted on tape approving a recruit being paid and they just got their top choice as next head coach. I think when/if Sean Miller leaves Arizona that we'll be just fine.

I'm not so sure. If there are sanctions coming, L'ville will get hit hardest. But at least they have their "fresh start" in Mack.

I teach my kids at every chance...the two most powerful phrases in the English language, if they are sincere, are:

I am sorry.

and

I was wrong.

So much is gained by using these when appropriate and felt (at least a little). My dad taught me this...by apologizing when he jumped my shit too much or without reason. It happens. We all do it.

If I can get my kids to incorporate this into their parenting (should they have the chance), I will have won in life.

(edited to add: If we can just get Miller to apologize to Zeus, we will make a Final Four. Guaranteed).

It goes far deeper.

The ghost of Rick Majerus consults George Karl and comes up with a triangle of candidates, but only backs two. John Thompson and Lou Carneseca make the final decision, but mostly John, because Lou doesn't hear so well these days.

Or maybe Trump picks. I am not sure of the exact succession rule.

Sounds exactly like someone who had no decision making power in this process:

Coach K: “Pittsburgh just made an amazing hire to lead its men’s basketball program. Having come from a proud basketball family, Jeff Capel is one of the most dynamic coaches in the country. He possesses championship-level experience as both a head and assistant coach, as well as distinct knowledge of the Atlantic Coast Conference that will benefit Pitt immediately. On a personal note, I want to thank Jeff for being directly by my side for the past seven years and completely committed to our mission at Duke and with USA Basketball. His insight, passion for the game, relationships with our players, and most importantly, his friendship have meant the world to me and my family. Jeff, Kanika and their wonderful children Cameron, Sydney and Elijah will represent the University of Pittsburgh at the highest level and with the utmost class and integrity.”

LOL People, are you sheeple? Or will you take the Red Pill?

Sorry, you're the cynic and skeptic, not me.

A coach, legendary one with the most power, who is blindsided, does not put out a statement like that. He says "Thank you Jeff for all your help and support. Wish you well in your new adventure."

Instead, K's hand-picked stooge gets an elegant farewell address reiterating how great he is, the USA Basketball (ROFL), the word Integrity (ROFL), his family, emphasis 7, 7, "seven years" (ROFL)...

K picked him to be the coach of Pitt. A non-threat to Duke, which Miller surely is, and a way he stays on top in college basketball.

It's so obvious. Maybe I am an intelligence level operative, or maybe it's filtering through the BS to see what is really happening. K blocked Miller, and planted his stooge. Deal.

"Capel is one of the most dynamic coaches in the country" ROFL. Good one K, we get it, you're selling your stooge who you planted!

K's real statement: "Capel is my plant and ensures my continued dominance in the college hoops, with the good ol boys. Enjoy Pitt"
