If that dude ends up at Cal out of nowhere you have to seriously question what Martin is doing over there......

Approximately the 20th best player in the Pac-12 last year - where was he supposedly going in the first place?

Hey just got Jaylen Brown.

According to Gershon and others that makes Cal the team to beat in the Pac12.

Maybe the favorite for 2nd place in the Pac. Their coach is still Cuonzo Martin and last I checked Arizona has some talent itself. Not even scared.

Their starting five is damn good, probably the most talented in the Pac-12.

Everybody is saying this but they return three starters from an awful team, plug in one sensational freshman, and another who will be forced to play center even though he's adamant he's a PF (and oh by the way looked disinterested and unmotivated the last two games I watched him play).

Talent-wise their starting five has caught up to AZ but their bench, coaching, and chemistry are huge question marks.

I don't think so. 3 good players, two of whom are freshmen and a bag of moldy oranges. That's it. Arizona is still a vastly superior team talent wise. And the favorite

Martin has been to the NCAA tourney 1 time out of 7 years coaching and he just pulled 2 top 10 recruits in this class. Something just doesn't fit here. I look forward to playing these guys.

Cal will be good, Incas tournament and 2nd in the Pac 12 good, but Arizona is the favorite.

Don't think this makes Cal the favorite in the Pac next season. We've got several returning players from a Pac championship team, plus a very strong freshman class of our own.

But of course Cal will be good. A lot of pressure on them. We'll see how quickly they can pull together and beat quality opponents.

And a couple quality redshirts in Anderson and Allen.

I'll be concerned about next year when their wings prove they can play well with just one ball.

I'll be concerned about the future when this proves to be anything other than an aberration brought about by a next door neighbor and a hired gun.

We beat Cal by 9 (nine) games in the standings last year. They add a class about as good as ours and now they're going to win the PAC?

Anyone who wants to make that bet (with you taking Cal) get in touch with me.

And 'ol Jon Rothstein talking the way he is should be more than willing to put his money where his mouth is. Someone should light his ass up on twitter about backing his words with a bet.

Why Cal? His AAU coach deferred to Brown. “Don’t know. He’s not saying.”

Agree. They have the talent, but couldn't mesh last year. Then there's that whole defensive part of the game. Jury is out . Biggest need is a pass-first PG.

I think the realistic way to look at this is that Cal is now a contender. It's silly to talk about them being a favorite to win the Pac or advance deep in the tourney simply because we're talking about a coach and a group of players with no significant achievements. UK and Duke have done incredibly well lately with groups of super-freshmen, but those teams have HOF coaches. It's not a knock on Cuonzo; it's just that he's gotta show us something before we start predicting his team to win titles.

AZ is the Pac favorite next year. But Cal will be dangerous.

Looks like Cal jumps to the front of the line in the Pac-12.

UCLA

locks for the top 2.

On paper their three best players are better than anyone Arizona has on its roster: Brown, Rabb and Wallace.

Yep. Miller > Cuonzo, Tarc > Rabb, our total roster > Cal's total roster

Sorry, until Cal proves it on the court as Miller's teams have the past few seasons, AZ gets the edge.

What are the specifics that limit Arizona to fourth? Is it the top 3 recruiting class, two great players off redshirt or experienced players in tarc, York, Pitts, pjc and ristic?
