How many titles does he have compared to Arizona players in college and the NBA?MilesSim0.0N wrote:Unfortunately he happens to be like 3x better than anyone who's ever played at UAMerkin wrote:Doesn't ASU currently have one guard in the NBA?

Easy on them, they're still learning college basketball.Spaceman Spiff wrote:But he's a guard!Merkin wrote:Doesn't ASU currently have one guard in the NBA?

It is kind of ironic that they have shirts that say Guard U, but they are a much worse defensive team than offense, and thus are poor at actually Guarding U.
That's true. But I still say the best stat of ASU's futility is that they have never won the PAC.Merkin wrote:Number of ASU basketball championships?
Let's make it easier, number of ASU Final Fours?

Gotta give Iggy one more.Merkin wrote:Isn't Eddie House the only ASU player to have a NBA championship ring?

NBA championships won by Arizona alumni as players since 1996
Jud Buechler – 3 (1996, 1997, 1998)
Sean Elliott – 1 (1999)
Andre Iguodala – 1 (2015)
Steve Kerr – 5 (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2003)
Jason Terry – 1 (2011)
Luke Walton – 2 (2009, 2010)
Brian Williams – 1 (1997)
Man I like this post and hope it all come true. Holiday gifts in exchange for thiszonagrad wrote:James Harden, in his illustrious career at ASU, won exactly ONE NCAA tournament game. One!!
James Harden in the NBA has never led his team to any considerable playoff success.
The fact that ASU has copied Arizona's Point Guard U mantra and created something similar is comical. But I guess that's the sincerest form of flattery. I'd be pissed if Arizona's student section tried to copy ASU's pathetic curtain of distraction. In fact, I'd be pissed if Arizona copied anything about ASU. We set the standard in this state and this conference. And come December 30, I think ASU is gonna get their asses handed to them at a raucous McKale Center the likes of which few have ever seen.
That’s one way to shave points....zonagrad wrote:What many people don't realize about Byron Scott is that he sat out the 1981-82 season. Why? Well, during his sophomore year he shared the backcourt with Fat Lever who was a year older. Scott decided he didn't want to share the ball and the limelight with Lever. So he missed his junior year. Lever went on to greatness in the NBA. A year later, it was Scott's turn in the limelight and he parlayed that into getting drafted high and landed in the best possible spot with the Lakers. But imagine the backcourt coming back for a second year together in Scott and Lever. How far could they have gone together? Perhaps a still elusive Pac 10 title. Perhaps a final four run. We'll never know.

For all the accolades Harden gets, he still hasn't won anything as a collegian or a pro. And I never said he wasn't a good player. But his teams' lack of success can be somewhat attributed to the fact the guy can't or won't play defense.MilesSim0.0N wrote:zonagrad wrote:James Harden, in his illustrious career at ASU, won exactly ONE NCAA tournament game. Yeah, you're right - I'd much rather have Jud Buechler on my squad.
What are you, 14?
Harden has literally accomplished nothing in his basketball career anywhere.MilesSim0.0N wrote:zonagrad wrote:James Harden, in his illustrious career at ASU, won exactly ONE NCAA tournament game. One!!

2010 all rookie team
2014 2015 2017 all NBA first team
Lead the association in assists in 2017
Sounds like a whole lot of nothing

Interesting stat. Miller came to UA same time Harden went to the NBA. Harden's teams have made the playoffs every year. Harden went to the NBA Finals once. Harden's team won 3 division titles. U of A has 3 PAC 10/12 regular season titles since Miller has been coach.

ESPN and Fox each have a certain amount of games alotted to them prior to the season. Each network chooses the games that they want prior to the season starting and whatever they don't choose goes to Pac-12 Network. Arizona/ASU needless to say wasn't expected to be a matchup of two ranked teams, so the networks missed their shot. Sucks, but that's how the system is set up.PHXCATS wrote:Semi related topic.
How is ESPN or Fox not buying the game on 12/30 from PAC-12 Network? Just because it is late on a Saturday right before NYE?
The announcers even admitted last night that it is probably the biggest game the Pac-12 Network has ever had.ChooChooCat wrote:ESPN and Fox each have a certain amount of games alotted to them prior to the season.
