I read that the "for cause" was because of the investigation into recruiting practices. That would certainly be a big stretch to make an investigation a cause for firing. Seems UConn is just trying to save $10 million.EastCoastCat wrote:Easy Chi...I live in CT.Chicat wrote:I’m hoping CSM wants to stay the fuck away from everyone in Connecticut.

Also reporting Olie was fired for cause but no details yet.
Well, golly-gee. Isn't it too bad that Connecticut doesn't have a sports network with national, much less global, reach that could investigate such a firing.BBQWildcat wrote:I read that the "for cause" was because of the investigation into recruiting practices. Maybe, but I think it's a matter of time until Bobby tries to head back East. Losing a ton of experienced talent, this would be a nice out.84Cat wrote:I think you mean Danny HurleySpaceman Spiff wrote:Bobby Hurley to UConn heating up!
ASU has the like #18 recruiting class coming in for 2018. Probably one of the 2-3 best classes they've ever had in their history.CalStateTempe wrote:That would be a step up. And leaving a dumpster fire as the talent runs out.
That’s called pulling a pastner.
So they'll be an NIT #1 seed fer sure?ASUHATER! wrote:ASU has the like #18 recruiting class coming in for 2018. Probably one of the 2-3 best classes they've ever had in their history.CalStateTempe wrote:That would be a step up. And leaving a dumpster fire as the talent runs out.

That says a lot about why he'd want to leave. The historic achievement of a top 20 recruiting class.ASUHATER! wrote:ASU has the like #18 recruiting class coming in for 2018. If he would be on board to be an assistant again, we could do a lot worse.azgreg wrote:
Maybe we can recruit him better this time. He's pretty highly regarded for a reason, perhaps too highly regarded for us. It seems more likely that he lands a midmajor HC job, but hey, you can dream.Beachcat97 wrote:Pretty sure Lute recruited Padgett.

I think that would be a mistake by Mack. I wonder if he's leveraging for a raise and extension. The just had a 1-seed at Xavier. He'll have a short leash at L'Ville.NYCat wrote:Mack to Louisville next probablyEastCoastCat wrote:Danny Hurley to UCONN.

Given the sanctions, I doubt Louisville will have too much room to demand results fast. It is Louisville, so there's always the resources to win big, but the sanctions deal a blow.zonagrad wrote:I think that would be a mistake by Mack. L'ville is a good program to watch if we're curious to know what *could* befall AZ. Both strong programs, both got dinged recently. I actually think AZ is the better job because of our west coast recruiting regional advantage, but then, L'ville's in a real conference.Spaceman Spiff wrote:Given the sanctions, I doubt Louisville will have too much room to demand results fast. Louisville's in a worse situation, NCAA-wise, because they were on self imposed probation when the FBI wires were happening. Of all the programs, if the NCAA wanted to go full death penalty, they are (I think) the only eligible program. I know they are eligible and we aren't, but not sure on SC and Miami.Beachcat97 wrote:L'ville is a good program to watch if we're curious to know what *could* befall AZ. Yeah, I don't know how we play out, but Louisville got smacked by the NCAA for the prostitution thing and did the FBI stuff while on self imposed probation for the prostitution thing. Our situation isn't nearly as clear either. Louisville offered the 150k for Bowen and Bowen didn't play this year period.ChooChooCat wrote:We aren't in for shit as compared to Louisville. Who knows, but with the shit storm likely to hit Louisville, it is unclear why Mack would leave Xavier at this point. Yes, Louisville is an elite job, but he has it rolling at Xavier and will have less headaches to deal with during the next few years. Why rebuild Louisville and deal with sanctions when he can continue winning at Xavier, and potentially land another top-tier job in the future without the headaches?jajoyce wrote:ChooChooCat wrote:We aren't in for shit as compared to Louisville. Chris Mack doesn't seem like he will be the head coach.
