Archie Miller’s seat is super fucking hot even with a $10M buyout.

I don't know what would happen if Archie were fired and Sean was extended here. It'd be truly hard for Sean not to find a way to bring his brother back in the program.

I seem to remember something about Archie's wife or Archie not liking Tucson, or was that someone else?

Would be the first I've heard of it. Sean's wife had bad allergies here once upon a time lol.

Wasn't that one of the reasons Sean was looking at Maryland, his wife missed green grass?

She used to have a twitter account, abasketballwidow or something like that.

Should definitely bring Archie back into the fold here if he is available. His early role here has always been understated and underrated.

Since Archie will be making bank, he can work cheap too. He must have the same agent as Sean with this beautiful contract.

https://247sports.com/Article/Archie-Mi ... 161581443/

According to a published report by the Indianapolis Star, Miller would be owed 100% of remaining base, deferred and outside, marketing and promotional income, should he be terminated without cause before March 31, 2022. The terms of his buyout change in a big way beginning April 1, 2022. From that point forward, Miller would only be owed 50% of all the aforementioned remaining income if he were to be terminated without cause.

Should IU terminate Miller’s contract without cause before March 31 of next year, he would be owed whatever remained of those three pools of compensation. It would add up to approximately $10.35 million, with that number subject to change as portions of Miller’s compensation are paid out monthly across the duration of the contract that is scheduled to run through March 31, 2024.

A bit surprised at Utah canning K. Thought he was solid and that they had a chance next year to be top 5 in the league.

Oh and Wilner can suck my sack

Wilner sucks but he is dead on here and hopefully that causes some traction. Harlan is a good AD, he learned from a great one in Chris Hill (who absolutely fucking ripped Pac12 officiating). I'm not sold on firing K, but they have seemingly settled back into the mediocre tier of the conference.

I'm surprised they fired K too, but Utah is a proud program. Two other schools from Utah made the dance. Doesn't reflect well on the Utes.

Always wondered who would last longer at their respective school - K or Turd at Colorado?

Guess that answers that. Utah and Colorado basketball are such low-bar gigs. Win 20 games/yr, qualify for the tournament about half the time, and have a job for life.

If I'm UNLV, I'm taking a really hard look at Sean Miller. Why not? Every other coaching hire has been a failure. The once proud Vegas program is now considered a stepping stone and not a destination position. The NOA is out and quite frankly exonerates Miller over the serious media allegations. There could be some blowback, mostly by the media, but you're UNLV and why would you give a shit. You had the NCAA's public enemy number one as your head coach for years.

I'd hate to see Miller leave Arizona. But that move to Vegas would make sense in a lot of ways.

I don't think a Robbins' extension offer, or that any good job offer that CSM might otherwise consider, are coming his way until the IARP decision is made.

The IARP year is irrelevant, or should be. The NOA is what matters & Miller looks pretty good (IMO) with that. Why let some this part like the IARP make your decision for you? If I was the UNLV AD, I’d be pursuing Miller hard because this may be the only chance to get a of his caliber. And our president & AD are stupid enough to let it happen.

Wasted opportunity by UNLV. Went cheap. Basically acknowledging they’re a nothing program and maybe their new coach will have some success like any other mid-major program.

As I have said UNLV hasn’t been relevant since the 90’s and their actions recently don’t show they really care about changing that.

If I’m Beard I stay right where I am. He’s already like the fifth highest paid coach in college basketball, and he’s in a town where the cost of living is next to nothing. He could be like Lute for Texas Tech.

Great point. I mean, he did go to UT, so that's going to pull on his heartstrings. But the T-Tech situation may be better overall for him.

The COL is next to nothing because no one would want to live in Lubbock, Austin is still affordable and a much more attractive city.

Lubbock is not Tucson. It's Lubbock. And to the people of Lubbock that might be quaint -- it's still a stockyard in a cotton field. There is absolutely nothing desirable about living in Lubbock, Texas. Mac Davis even wrote the lyrics, "happiness is Lubbock in your rearview mirror."

This may be a stretch, but I'm of the belief that Miller and Robbins have come to an agreement but are keeping quiet until after the women's basketball team is done. If the UofA were to announce a deal with Miller, all attention would turn to its analysis to the detriment of the attention being shown the woman's program. I think Miller is the type of person that would want Coach Adia and the woman's basketball program to enjoy the spotlight they earned for as long as possible.

My oldest son's girlfriend's brother moved to Austin in December. No longer affordable.

Saying that, Austin is about the only city in TX I could live in. Like Gov Abbott said, Austin is not Texas.

We should try not to act like NO ONE wants to live in Lubbock. A quarter million people call it home, so it’s like half the size of Tucson.

And yes, I’ve been there. Not the most picturesque corner of the country. But I bet you could buy a 12,000 foot mansion for whatever you’ve got in your couch cushions if you’re making $6M a year like our boy Beard.

Texas is too good to keep (insert current football or basketball coach's name here) around. If sense of entitlement could win you games, Texas would never lose.

Kinda sorta. Tucson's metro population is 1 million. Lubbock closer to 300K. And yes, if you buy a mansion on the golf course -- the view is probably not too bad. But drive three hours in any direction and you're still in the middle of nowhere. I will say that the coeds at Tech are very impressive and look like they belong on the UA Mall or a Malibu beach.

$8M/yr?

And what are the expectations that come with a salary like that at a place like that?
