Watching Nebraska and hoo boy they still stink. That safety was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen, from their team captain no less.

Scott Frost is one of the most epic fails of a hire in major college football ever. 0 success translated from the domination in 2 short years at UCF.

Is it OK to hate/root against Illinois even though it’s football?

I'm a 2nd degree Nebraska fan and I'm rooting for Illinois. Hoping to hasten the end of the Frost era for my friends sake. But then Nebraska will just get a new coach and continue to be irrelevant for another few years.

Re: 2021 non PAC-12 game thread
My friend is convinced that Nebraska is still a top 3-5 job in the country and has top 3-5 support and resources and name recognition. And that it's just bad AD and BOR leadership that's caused the last 5 coaches to fail to live up to expectations. I have to struggle to hold in my giggles every time he goes on tirades.

Tulane gave OU a scare.

Tulane does have 3 more SEC championships than Oklahoma does so.............
Re: 2021 non PAC-12 game thread
Watching Alabama Football makes me want to vomit. What a joke it is that a team can just hand pick all the best talent year after year. Good ole Pay em Saban.

Re: 2021 non PAC-12 game thread
I avoid watching SEC games as much as I can. Usually limit my watching to Big10, Pac12, Big12, MWC, AAC, etc.
Re: 2021 non PAC-12 game thread
I try to as well, but I was curious if Miami could put up a fight. I forgot Alabama can restock NFL talent at nearly every position and virtually only 2 teams can even keep a game close against them. I wish the NFL would just absorb them in as a new Franchise at this point because they are a joke as a true College Football Program. Even the fact they just rehab coaching images year after year is sad. Bill O'Brien and Doug Marrone on the same staff. Gimme a fooking break.scumdevils86 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 04, 2021 3:05 pm I avoid watching SEC games as much as I can. Usually limit my watching to Big10, Pac12, Big12, MWC, AAC, etc.

Re: 2021 non PAC-12 game thread
I forgot about that coach, was wondering if he'd ever coach in college. He'll win a lot of games, but always have one of the worst defenses around.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.
i'll just go with fuck asu.

Totally agree. Plagiarized it AND totally fucked it up to boot.
McKay's line was a classic. Although a little research shows no audio/video of it, and some even question whether he actually said it.
But I hate Brian Kelly, so let's go with him stealing McKay's line.

I watched Kelly live and it was extremely obvious he was going for the McKay quote, but not because the situation presented itself.UAEebs86 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 9:38 amSpaceman Spiff wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 9:35 amMcKay did it well, though. It is pretty funny that you literally see Kelly's face as he realizes how badly he delivered it. So, he poorly executed a joke about his team's poor execution.
And he killed a kid.

It's only game 2 of Sark's underachieving time at Texas and he's already blaming the players:
Pete Carroll’s decade at USC has left college football with a coaching tree of entitled, underachieving blowhards (Kiffin, Orgeron) getting the benefit of the doubt for landing jobs they initially have no business qualifying for.

The implementation of more lax redshirt rules in general plus the Covid year is going to give us some old timers. Not even counting the BYU players who started college in like 2014.
