My thoughts exactly. Gotta keep this assistant group together as best as possible. Cummings, Graham, Doughtery, Carroll, and Paopao gotta be in the running for coaching positions at other schools. All have been excellent coaches and recruiters deserving of some raises.

Hopefully we're past the point of listening to some prof who rides his bike down Mountain to his little funky office, works on a book, lectures on a topic of debatable value, and brings in no money (i.e.: Paul Giamatti in The Holdovers) complaining that Taylor Swift and all athletes and coaches make too much money. No doubt it's true, but it's as pointless as complaining about gravity.

Too bad the Arizona administration has been so financially irresponsible, but the horses are out of the barn. So, lease out the farmland on Campbell and Roger (just like ASU has done), cut back on financial aid and certain select course offerings, and do the across-the-board 2%. And put on the noise-cancelling headphones until people get tired of whining.

Meanwhile, there's a separate multi-million dollar sports business that needs to be responsibly managed. The Giamatti guy will say that sort of thing shouldn't be attached to universities. And no doubt that's also true, and with the same response as above.

Meanwhile, if you've been dating and you finally find somebody who you think is "the one", you don't just spend the minimum average rate for dates if you want that person to commit to you long-term. Not that you can buy the affections of anybody worthwhile, but after somebody's been patient with you, looking forward to a life of McDonald's, Netflix, and six-packs of Miller Lite may cause them to wonder if they should set their sights higher.

Among available public school information in our new Big XII destination, it goes: Oklahoma St: $7.6M, Kansas: $5M, Kansas St: $4.5M, Texas Tech: $4.1M, Iowa St: $4.0M, West Virginia: $4.0M. Jedd currently makes $2.6M.

If he got Balmer to donate, that may be his biggest recruit yet. Just last year he donated $425M to the University of Oregon, which was not his Alma Mater (he dropped out of Stanford with Gates).
