How odd is it that the 4 favorites for winning the divisions are Washington, Washington St, Colorado and Utah?

No. It just took them 7 games to realize that that we really dont have any running game. Unless all of those INTs are attractive

Hate to say it but I agree with Graham here. Cracker's gonna look like the bad guy after this exchange gets passed around a bit but Leach did him dirty without any evidence of actual wrongdoing.

Who would've thought that the 4 top teams in the league this year would be Washington (#4 now), Utah (#17 now), Colorado (#23 now) and Washington state (#26/1st in the receiving votes category). Oregon is on track to have its first losing season since 2004 and its worst overall season in 25 years, we suck, and USC, Stanford and UCLA will probably all be 5-7 win teams that may or may not go bowling.

CU and WSU were complete dumpster fires when their coaches were hired, and Utah has inherent disadvantages against every other team in the conference save WSU. Hell, even Sonny Dykes has Cal on an upswing with the program getting better each year.

Granted, this is one season, and the conference overall is the wort it has been that I can remember... but I really hope the excuses about our 'inherent disadvantages preventing us from being competitive in the PAC' (weather, recruiting base, no indoor practice facility) get put to rest. The excuses are tired.

Not sure how any teams winning 6-7 games will miss bowl eligibility, especially 3 high profile programs, but it really does not matter. Mora and RR are looking like the runts of the "new coaches hired since 2012" litter. Helton is on his way to joining them, with Helfrich not far behind - although making the playoff does give him some extra wiggle room.

Been a while, but Mike Price took the Cougs to 2 Rose Bowls with the worst facilities, worst climate and no hotties like the CA and AZ schools. That was an impressive coaching achievement, keeping those Palouse QBs home.

The rate they are going there's no guarantee that usc, Stanford or ucla will be bowling.

Happens when you have a good program and a good coach who builds and gets you competitive each year and doesn't recruit MWC level athletes and expect PAC 12 results

That is true, but Utah would be infinitely more difficult to recruit to than UA. We have some challenges, but theirs are Herculean in comparison.

Was just in town visiting. A guy I know had an extra ticket to the game and since I was in town, I couldn't pass it up. I was sitting (well, actually standing, no one sits there) in the MUSS. My ears are still ringing. It was awesome.

That's awesome. The MUSS is pretty good, like the zoo was back around 2008-2010. Hope you enjoyed your entire visit, it's a pretty nice city.

Man, i have been dismissing CU for the last 10 games because they are a team with 19 returning starters and thought Mac was somewhat of mediocre coach, but damn they are putting together one hell of a season. Then I start looking at their recruiting at they are 17th and they arent the fools gold top 20 like Arizona. Buffs could be scary.

Yes Helfrich has had a truly horrible year, but firing him will set the program further back. Schools like Auburn, Alabama, Florida St, etc can get away with firing a coach two years removed from a Playoff/top 5 finish, but Oregon doing so sets the program back and temporarily kills their marketability. Let Helfrich on another year, at the least to whittle down his buyout and avoid looking so reactionary.

Even if you can throw the bank at a guy like Jon Gruden? I feel like Oregon has the resources and recruiting history/current talent to weather a coaching change in the same way UCLA did.
