So let me get this straight, UCLA barely beats a team on a neutral field that BYU destroyed in Austin, and it's a big P12 win? I'm not buying it.

I'm buying it. For once, I don't get Gimino. UCLA not impressive in beating Texas with a backup QB in Jerryworld?

Maybe the Bruins didn't look like much against Memphis, but any team who can do what Jerry Neuheisel and co. did tonight will need to be reckoned with.

BYU beat UT at home (Austin, TX) last week 41-7. Jerryworld isn't Texas' home field....

You know Texas is playing with a back-up QB and 3 OL out right? I expect OU and Baylor to beat Texas by 30+.

I call bullshit. Graham won't even discuss the injury until after that game. Same crap he pulled with Grice.

Man, I hate being right:

Arizona State quarterback Taylor Kelly broke a bone in his right foot Saturday night and is expected to miss at least a month, multiple sources have told Arizona Sports' Paul Calvisi.

"The Sun Devils have this week off but are about to embark on a difficult four-game conference stretch where they'll host UCLA on Thursday, Sept. 25 and then go to USC, host Stanford and go to Washington on Oct. 25."

Going to be a fascinating three weeks (UCLA, @USC, Stanford) for ASU.

Hypothetical - If Kelly misses the rest of the year would he be eligible for a medical redshirt?

I believe so as he played in less than 1/3 of the season.

i thought it was less than 1/4 of the season?

the timing for asu is good. they have byes in 2 of the next 4 weeks. but sandwiched between those byes are games against ucla and @usc. after the 2nd by they play stanford and @washington. their next 4 game stretch is bad. if kelly is out more than 3-4 weeks then they could possibly use their backup against ucla, @usc and stanford. either way i'm hoping the next 4 games are losses for asu and in 6 weeks they are 3-4 and 1-4 in the pac 12.

Without Kelly, asu should be throttled by USC, UCLA, and Stanford.

And they'll probably lose to Washington as well.

And then there's Utah and Notre Dame. If Kelly misses those games, I don't see any way that asu beats Notre Dame and I don't think they'll be able to move the ball on Utah.

I'm seeing about a 4-5 record heading into Washington State. Could even be 3-6. They gave us 600 yards of offense to Colorado for pete's sake.

I hope you guys are right, but I'm not ready to throw dirt on ASU's grave* just because Kelly is out. We really don't know what Bercovici can do. I do think Norvell is a good OC and will adjust to Berco's strengths & weaknesses. I don't see Salty's tailspin happening, but hopefully they stub their toe more than once over the next couple of weeks. If anything I hope they lose to Stanford - hanging a conference loss on UCLA in particular might be doing us a favor.

*I will be happy to dance on their grave once they're dead. :-)

In a general sense you like the competitive fire in Utah's Wilson to go for those extra yards...

...but you have to be smart about it, and that was not smart and by that I mean that was not an appropriate risk reward move. Like, not even close.

A qb should never leap for an extra yard unless int for a TD

Incredibly reckless and stupid

My Michigan buddy predicted it earlier in the week too. He thinks that the UM staff is doing a terrible job developing their talent despite the top recruiting classes they bring in. He's lost faith in Hoke.

That's the way a lot of Michigan home games are going to start looking.

Really wish we could get a Home & Home with them, but mostly for selfish reasons.

Well there was a like almost 2 hour weather delay so that did scare a lot of people off. But the paid attendance the last two weeks for Michigan is about as low as it's been in 20 years.

Exactly. You see Colorado jump out to a 21-0 lead at Cal and there aren't many other thoughts that can run through your head.

And it makes my stomach rumble a bit thinking about our team.
