Agreed. Not impressed.
It's too early in the season. Almost every Pac-12 fan base is saying the same thing about the UofA after their unimpressive win over a UTSA team that was playing with only 6 starters back. I think we will know more about every Pac-12 team in about 6 weeks.
I'm guessing a lot of people are now changing their opinions again about Stanford. :D
It's amazing. I don't know how you go from thing we saw last season and that beginning at Northwestern to where they are now. Tail end events occur and we might be watching one.

They are impressive, but I still think Hogan sucks. The pick he threw in the 2nd half was classic Hogan - double clutch & then uncork his long-ass windup delivery, all while staring down his receiver. Even though Stanford's schedule appears to be relatively smooth sailing from here on out, I could easily see them having a brain fart game.

How is it that Ucla looks like a playoff team against Arizona and then lays down for it's next two games? I get the injuries and I get that we rolled up 400 yards rushing on you guys, but my goodness?!?! Coming off a bye week no less? Has anybody suggested that Mora break out the black face paint for Stanford one time? I'm not being a jerk, I'm serious because the talent is obviously there but you beat Arizona big to put yourselves in the drivers seat for the South and then just go through the motions vs Assu and literally tapped out early in the third qtr vs Stanford. I would be really pissed right now as a Bruin fan because this team has the talent to take the next step.

We've rehashed that plenty of times in the UCLA-Arizona thread. You seemed to have forgotten it was there, though I don't blame you I guess. If you want the reasons why, feel free to revisit it.

They didn't look like anything close to a playoff team against Arizona, and others saw the same thing. Eliminate the self-inflicted wounds, and we played them pretty close. We do not resemble a playoff team at full strength, let alone without any LB's and our only QB who can throw for much of the game. That said, Randall may have actually helped our cause - given that even when Anu was in, our passing game was non existent.

I know they had key injuries as well, but their early season wins were much less impressive in retrospect. Virginia is 1-4, and BYU isn't as good as many thought. I type this as I watch the Cougars trail Cincinnati at home. I am not sure how anyone who saw both our losses this season was surprised the Cardinal got the better of the Bruins.

How do you differentiate between "self inflicted wounds" and forced turnovers by the defense?

I thought Utah had great special teams? Already gave up a kickoff return for a TD and another long punt return leading to a FG and the first quarter isn't even over.

How about Utah getting points (+3.5) at USC this Saturday??? Very peculiar line right there. You know 80%-plus of the public will be all over the Utes. Definitely seems too easy to take Utah.

Edit: whoops, couldn't see merk's embedded tweet at work.

USC is always bet heavily as pointed out by Greg. That line reflects the opportuntity to bettors to even the USC bettors out.

Also, when they get to Tucson they've got 5 straight weeks without a bye, and as bad as the injuries have been for Arizona the Cats could be at almost full strength for this one, with the guys who have been out pretty well rested. Don't know what will happen but it's something to keep an eye on.

Meanwhile UCLA has 4th and a yard and they pick up 6.

Kind of reminds me of our D vs. UCLA.
