I wonder if the Big 12 might punish ASU and Utah for not wanting to come sooner by not giving them a full share. That would be an amazing outcome and exactly what they (especially ASU) deserve.

Big XII boards are funny. They're pissed at ASU and Utah dragging their feet and totally happy to cap it at 14 for now, or even take WSU and OSU over them. I'm sure that won't happen, and ASU and Utah will get to vulture in after we did all the heavy lifting. But I don't think we'll have to worry about more lies from them like in 1978 about how we "coat-tailed" into the Pac based on their great desirability after John Schaefer actually made it all happen back then. Much better to be in this position. As to Canzano, I think he was really worried about what would happen to OSU in a Pac-12 breakup, and now his worst fears are realized. Not sure what happens now to his and Wilner's viability as the great "insiders" on the Pac-12 beat, but that's how it goes.

They definitely shouldn’t offer them a full share. More like $1 over the base level PAC-8 deal.

Is Cal even gonna have a football team to play in their new stadium they owe 14 bazillion dollars on?

OSU has that big contract they gave to Tinkle, wonder if they'll be able to pay him?

From McMurphy's article
In the Big 12, Arizona, Arizona State and Utah will receive a full $31.7 million annually in media rights revenue (not including other league revenue from College Football Playoff, etc.) once the Big 12’s new six-year $2.3 billion Grant of Rights deal with ESPN and FOX begins in 2025, sources said.

In 2024, the three schools also will receive a full Big 12 revenue share, estimated to be about $42 million, a source said. In 2025, that “all-in” number is expected to be around $50 million annually per school, industry sources said.
Here's the udub and nikeu share of the big ten

Zero. Absolutely zero reason to leave before you absolutely have to. There is not some hard deadline with the Big12. 100% the right move to wait until there is

Serious question:

1) How old are you??
2) Has your doctor administered a cognitive test for Alzheimers recently??

We don't know if they'll keep the name Big XII, or exactly how things will work. At this point, I'm not concerned with any comments made by anybody when circumstances were different. (At one point, Robbins said we were firm with the Pac-12.) In any event, Lev mentioned this same obvious geographic set-up, and if that's how things turn out, that would be okay with me.

You had better go back and re-read all of your posts on this subject over the past several months. You have CONSTANTLY argued for staying in the PAC12 because we might get in the B1G/SEC down the road. If you don't understand that then I can only conclude one of the following must be true:

1) You have a serious case of dementia (in which case we should not be arguing with you)
2) You have serious Reading/English comprehension issues
3) You are nothing but a giant troll

My question remains: How old are you and has your doctor administered a cognitive test for Alzheimers recently??

I think you are right, although his job is harder now. But he has been more than up to the task so far. I trust him as well.

Maybe there will be creative ways to keep up the California momentum he has built. Practices in California, OOC games, building an office in California, etc.

UCLA and USC were already gone.... where are the Cali kids that would normally go to UofA / ASU / Rado / Utah / now going to play?

Fresno St?
Wash St?
Chico St?

This is stupid

I'm actually being serious. Is the thought that the Mountain West schools and other small California schools are going to now kick the asses of former Pac schools in California recruiting now?

The “this will kill our recruiting” argument has been debunked, stomped all over, lit on fire, shot, drowned, and beheaded. But if you want to cling to its corpse, more power to you. It still makes absolutely zero sense.

And reading back through this thread today to catch myself up, there are plenty of instances of posters advocating that we stay in the PAC. Only an idiot would try to claim otherwise. And y’all are dumb as rocks. Riding it out in the Pac to maybe get an SEC or B1G invite seven years from now was and remains a monumentally stupid idea.

Top kids are leaving the state to play for Clemson, Alabama, LSU etc especially in the last few years where the pac 12 quality has gone down.

They don't want to stay just to stay, if they want to be semi close the 4 corner schools will play with big exposure for them.
