He didn't redshirt, but the season is more than 30% over.

He was 4th in the B1G in receiving. At least it didn't happen on camera.

If your conference has a championship game, that makes 13 games to count against. Since he played in 4, 4/13 is 30% rounded down so he may qualify.

Things are looking really good for a medical redshirt. Some bylaw that has always been interpreted in the past to allow kids in his situation to play another year. I always thought it was weird that he played at 160lbs as a true Freshman, but I'm glad he did now. One more year with Iowas S&C staff certainly won't hurt him.

He's still mending, but they approved his medical redshirt today. He's been working like crazy on his upper body in the weight room and watching a lot of film.

Really happy for the reprieve!

Just an update: The surgery he had in September didn't go well. The pin they put in the foot wasn't adequate to handle the stress he was putting on it and he broke it again in Winter workouts. He had another surgery about a month ago where they put in a bigger pin and did a bone graft and he's sitting Spring ball out while it heals. Still hitting the weights hard and mentally engaged, but it's frustrating that the new receivers coach has to rely on film to evaluate him.

I still expect him to be one of the best receivers in the B1G next year. Perhaps a bit of family bias.

Note I was not stalking him or his wife, just noticed when typing in his name to see what he was up to google search added "wife", so a lot of people apparently are.

Yeah, they got married last May. He seems to be happy, so I'm happy.

His numbers are down this year, but he's been relatively healthy all season and is still playing pretty well. He's caught at least one pass in 28 straight games, and Iowa doesn't throw to the receivers that often.

Last week's game against Ohio State was a lot of fun. This week ought to be a slugfest against Wisconsin.

It looks like he caught the most important pass that came his way in life! Good for him.

He has a tryout with the Jets. Keep your fingers crossed!
