Re: Baylor
Will ASU's Todd Graham become a candidate at Baylor?
Lets get the hype train going. Even if its just to bring up how he has had a lot of guys arrested under his watch.
http://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/n ... /84986326/" target="_blankNot long after word leaked Thursday that Baylor planned to dismiss football coach Art Briles, the Todd Graham-to-Waco speculation began. As a guest on the Brad Cesmat Show, Mac Engel, a columnist at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, said the Arizona State coach should not be ruled out as a replacement candidate.
Part of this might stem from Graham’s job-hopping history, something that should have been put to rest a long time ago, but hasn't. Graham is in his fifth season at ASU. Only two Pac-12 coaches – Utah’s Kyle Whittingham and Stanford’s David Shaw – have been at their respective schools longer.
At the same time, Baylor is in Texas, and Texas is home to Graham. He grew up just 103 miles north of Waco in Mesquite, working security at Cowboys games in Texas Stadium. He coached high school in Texas. Graham talks like a Texan and acts like one, showing off his ASU cowboy boots at last year’s Pac-12 Media Days in Burbank, Calif.

Technically true, but RichRod, Mora and Leach started the same time Graham did.

Re: Baylor
He's going to get a show clause. Baylor is circling the wagons and retaining Starr and their AD. They're dropping this whole thing squarely on Briles. Good read linked:SCCats wrote:Or a different interesting one: how long until someone hires Art Briles?splitsecond wrote:Also, how long until someone in thee forums declares that RichRod is "definitely gone" to Baylor?
Re: Baylor
I'd say Starr suddenly schedules an early December vacation by the end of the week, if he wants to cling to his job.

Well now Starr has all that free time on his hands, he is free to run for Vice President on the Republican ticket - he'd be the perfect fit for the Trumpet.
Any sufficiently advanced troll is indistinguishable from a genuine kook.

Ken Starr would like to point out that it was only the sinners getting raped.
Re: Baylor
"Sinners getting raped" reminds me of BYU punishing and discouraging rape victims. Terrifying stuff at these campuses.

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/blogs/ncaa ... 58293.html" target="_blankAccording to a report from HornsDigest.com’s Chip Brown, the school’s board of regents will “consider a one-year suspension” for Briles when it meets on Monday. Bleacher Report’s Jason King also reported the news.
According to Brown, the push to vote for Briles’ return in 2017 is “being driven by some of the biggest bjg-money donors at the school – many of whom helped fund BU’s $300 million football stadium that opened in 2014.” Briles is said to have met with “some key figures associated with the school last Thursday.”

We unanimously agree the analysis tilts in favor of the extra two wins a season."

Re: Baylor
Baylor, time and time again, has described itself as a Christian university to the media, including in one report that future action should include “recommendations to foster an even more Christ-centered culture on campus.” But every single one of its actions suggests otherwise. It’s easy to quote Christ. It’s harder to admit that football is still your true king.
What is the value of a woman? Of a victim? Is there a price you can put on a person’s trauma? At Baylor there is. In a report today saying the board would vote on possibly bringing back Briles, Horns Digest’s Chip Brown notes it is expected to cost “between $15 million and $25 million” to settle the contract. It shouldn’t matter how much it costs to break Briles’s contract—he was a part a of systemic university failure to even pretend to care about the safety of women.

Re: Baylor
This is normally where I'd say something snarky like, "Oh Baylor, don't ever change" . . . but seriously Baylor folks . . . CHANGE! For the love of god, stop fucking assaulting people.
A Baylor athletic department official has been placed on an indefinite leave of absence, according to a person with knowledge of the matter, after he was arrested on a misdemeanor charge stemming from an incident with a reporter after a football game.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation.
Police charged Heath Nielsen, Baylor’s associate athletic director for communications, after James McBride, a reporter from the Keller, Texas-based Texas Blaze News, told police Nielsen assaulted him Nov. 5 after the Bears' 62-22 loss to TCU in Waco, Texas.
According to Waco TV station KWTX, McBride said he was attempting to take a photograph with a Baylor football player when Nielsen grabbed him by the throat and pushed him away, saying McBride was breaking the school’s rules against conducting interviews on the field after games.
Nielsen, who was placed on the leave of absence shortly after the alleged incident, was arrested Nov. 8.
