Not performance related. One report said he was verbally abusing players, another said he made injured kids play and that there will be lawsuits.

Certainly wouldn't condone playing injured guys but this guy, like the fat man at Kansas, got them their best results. As for Oregon, I do think they need to look at a guy like Chip again. His biggest issue is he cheats and I am sure Knight doesn't want to win a ship and then have to vacate it

One allegation I saw was mainly that he ignored concussion protocol and had players play through concussions without diagnosis.

Looks like more than just concussions from the article.

Jeff Brohm to Purdue
Did not think that Purdue would make out good in their coaching search. Good job by them.

He's a really good coach, but I guess they really paid all that money to get rid of Helfrich immediately. Feel like Taggart or someone like him would have been available next year.

Taggart? Meh. 40-45 as a coach. 1 season with more than 8 wins. No bowl wins. Oregon fans probably thought they'd get a much bigger name.

No you wouldn't because Oregon put themselves in this situation. Ask yourself who want to go to Oregon when they just fired a winning football coach on one bad season.

I think you have to give him the benefit of the doubt. USF fans are hoping this is a bad dream. Taggart was about to take them places.

Taggart is pretty good. He's comparable to McIntyre at CO. Skip Holtz left a dumpster fire that took a lot of cleaning up, but Taggart has been building them constantly in the right direction.

If you're gonna get a guy from a midmajor, Taggart is a good choice. Oregon isn't such a dominant force that they can pull Saban. They got a good recruiter who has shown he knows how to build a solid foundation.

Does it matter? OC for Alabama is about as prestigious as an assistant can get.

Maybe it does? I mean, I honestly can't think of a better place to be while battling alcoholism! I've been to Alabama and I can personally tell you those boys & girls can drink like no other. They take it to another level down in the South.

I personally don't think he will get the position and that's most likely a good thing for Sark. The sideline ass chewings Nick would deal out to Cutty would certainly drive him to the dark side.

So Houston promoted Applewhite to Head coach. Good call on them. Chi I think their was a reason why they didn't tap Kriffin as HC.

So as a head coach Lane starts with the Raiders, then goes to the Volunteers, then to the Trojans and now Florida Atlantic? I guess high school is the next stop.

I doubt this is much surprise to anyone, but since there's an actual article on it...

Reference calls to people who worked at USC and Tennessee basically rendered Kiffen unhireable

http://www.yardbarker.com/college_footb ... Redirect=1" target="_blank
Though Kiffin’s name was brought up for multiple jobs across the last three years, nearly all of it was speculation and smoke rather than genuine interest in him. One person with knowledge of the matter, who had investigated Kiffin for a job, said reference calls to people who worked at USC and Tennessee basically rendered him unhireable.

It's like a husband and wife splitting to date other people, striking out miserably then returning to each other. Essentially Tobias and Lindsay's relationship from seasons 1-2 of Arrested Development.
