I think that's a good line up. I think Furd rolls Maryland and USC manhandled Nebraska but other than those two I think the games are close

Wonder how much motivation will play into the Sun Bowl. (Well, Bowls pretty much entirely come down to motivation...)

But given how unhappy Duke was with losing their two latest bowls, and how embarrassed ASU was by Texas Tech last year, whichever staff wins the motivation game wins the game.

Eh, I won't dog on the Sun Bowl too much.

Placing two 9-3 teams is good work for such an out of the way sight for a bowl game. The rich history of the bowl I'm sure plays into it, but the Sun has been fortunate not to turn into what the Bowl in Shreveport has become, relying on at-large bids and getting knocked a rung lower on the conference tie-ins seemingly every year.

And for another tip of the hat I'm sure the Sun committee would gladly host Arizona one of these upcoming years. With Tucson and Phoenix only 4 and 6 hour drives away they could count on plenty of Arizona fans arriving.

The necessary fixer upper is going back to the Big 12 tie in. The ACC coming all the way from the east coast just hasn't worked as well - Miami, Pitt, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech. Get the Big 12 involved again and this is one of the more dependable regional and geographically appropriate matchups.

Im not feeling the game vs K-State either. Hundley is already in "save it for the NFL mode"

What does he need to save? Only thing he's gonna be doing in the NFL is holding a clipboard.

So I was arguing with a scummie over at Scout about how the PAC-12 bowl selection process works, and I found out that the PAC-12 changed process slightly this year. The one game in the overall conference standings rule still applies, but now the bottom 3 bowls are locked in to record (no leapfrogging), so here's how the selections went:

PAC-12 Bowl Tie # on the left (Arizona being in a CFP NY6 game moved everybody up a spot):

1. Oregon 8-1 (11-1) Rose CFP semis for being ranked #2
Arizona 7-2 (10-2) Fiesta (CFP Bowl for being ranked #10, Boise St. and Georgia Tech got auto bids requiring Top 10 for CFP)
2. UCLA 6-3 (9-3) Alamo (could have also picked ASU, USC, Utah, or Stanford since they were all within one game)
3. USC 6-3 (8-4) Holiday (could have also picked ASU, Utah, or Stanford since they were all within one game)
4. Stanford 5-4 (7-5) Foster Farms (could have also picked ASU or Utah since they were both within one game)
5. ASU 6-3 (9-3) Sun (had to take ASU, better record than Utah)
6. Utah 5-4 (8-4) Las Vegas (had to take Utah, better record than Washington)
7. UW 4-5 (8-5) Cactus (had to take Washington since they were bowl eligible)

If Ifo Ekpre-Olomu is out, how much of a hit do the Ducks take in their chances to win a NC?

What does that mean? Is he done with football then?

Oregon cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu suffered a knee injury during Tuesday's practice that will keep him out of the College Football Playoff.

Oregon coach Mark Helfrich did not specify the injury but confirmed on Thursday that Ekpre-Olomu will not play during the postseason.

Nice to come back to the game and see that Duke is showing signs of life. I stopped watching after Duke's first two possessions when it looked like their qb couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

If the QB had any sort of arm that's an easy 6 instead of a possible INT
