The "autonomy 5" instead of "Power 5" thing is really stupid.

Not as stupid as what they used to call their divisions, but yeah...stupid.

Thought all coaches did that. Look at Stoops with Gronk.
Guess that was "cause".

It is most certainly cause. UCLA alumnus Ramogi Huma wrote a letter in May detailing many allegations that, if true, are pretty disturbing.
Dear Chancellor Wise,
My name is Ramogi Huma and I am the Executive Director of the National College Players Association (NCPA), an advocacy group comprised of over 17,000 current and former Division I college athletes. I am contacting you in response to a number of disturbing assertions made by former Illinois football player Simon Cvijanovic against head football coach Tim Beckman and other university officials. Simon has described the incidents below in which he says Beckman mistreated Illinois football players as stated below:
Beckman attacked Illinois football player Kenny Knight by kneeing him in the back of the knee and taking him down to the ground after a team fight had been diffused.
Beckman pressured Simon to play with a torn labrum in his shoulder and a torn meniscus in his knee on separate occasions. Also, after pressure from Beckman and other coaches, Peter returned to play in games two weeks after injuring an ankle that the doctor told him needed 6-8 weeks of recovery.
Beckman threatened to disparage Simon and other teammates’ character to NFL scouts if they did not play through injuries that Beckman thought were not serious.
Simon was denied access to his medical records for five months and was not consulted that removing almost all of his meniscus would be an outcome of his knee surgery.
Assistant coach Bill Cubit attempted to interfere with Simon’s medical treatment by giving medical advice that contradicted that of his doctor. He also threatened to harm Simon’s NFL opportunities as pressure to get him to continue practicing while suffering an anxiety attack.
Beckman punished Simon’s younger brother and former Illinois football player Peter Cvijanovic for failing to gain weight without regard to the health implications in managing Peter’s Type 1 diabetes.
In addition to Simon’s accusations, the media has reported that former Illinois football player Nick North says that Beckman forced him into playing on a serious knee injury and pressured injured players to return to play sooner than they were ready.

So apparently uconn is opening the season at home against Villanova. And they are a 7 point dog. Not often a fbs team is a home underdog to an fcs team.

And 28-0 run by osu in the 2nd half. This team is going to be near unbeatable unless they turn the ball over.

Looking at their schedule, there is almost zero chance of them losing until they play Mich State. That is the only ranked team on their schedule and it doesn't come until 21 Nov. Virginia Tech looks like, by far their toughest opponent until then. Not only the best team in the nation but they have by far the easiest schedule of the expected playoff contenders.

Tech would've stayed close if Brewer didn't get hurt - pretty much deflated everything and he was killing Ohio State in the 2nd qtr. But Ohio State is only going to get better so yea, they'll be tough to beat.

I haven't seen any of this game and I assume Auburn will outscore Jackson State something like 28-0 in the second half, but the halftime score of Jackson State 10, #6 Auburn 6 is worthy.

Auburn's only TD thus far came on a missed holding call (how it was missed is beyond me as it was right near the QB an d about as blatant as can be). Still on 13-10 Auburn with JSU driving.
