LSU football could shut down.

Because of the $940 million budget deficit created by Louisiana's republicans recently, there is a real threat of public education and health services being shut down in the summer and fall. The new Democratic governor is trying to get some emergency taxes pushed through to fund everything but if not LSU could be shuttered in the fall and with it it's athletic programs.

LSU AD revenue: $138,914,636
LSU AD expenses: $121,888,715
Looks to me like a profit of $17M.

The school itself would be shut down. No students, no classes, no groundskeepers, no maintenance people, nothing. So it doesn't matter how much money LSU football makes.

The school will close before the semester and all students will get incompletes and not be eligible next year. It's a bigger problem than AD revenue.
