Went to San Diego State's home game Vs Toledo yesterday. A boring game with a fun ending.
Burmeister was booed. I don't think I've ever watched a more incompetent, ineffective offense in person. From the San Diego Tribune:
"SDSU struggled for the fourth straight week in the passing game — totaling just 40 yards through the air until its final drive.."
"He made it a point to look for tight end Mark Redman, who was targeted seven times and led the Aztecs with four receptions for 19 yards. They were mostly targets within 3-5 yards of the line of scrimmage, which is the area Burmeister worked a majority of the time with his passes. That’s why he had thrown for only 11 yards — completing 6 of 13 passes — by halftime, with the Aztecs clinging to a 7-0 lead. When Burmeister did finally go deep looking for wide receiver Tyrell Shavers, the pass was picked off by cornerback Chris McDonald."
Through 4 games so far, Burmeister has passed for only 230 yards.
Vs Arizona: 65 yds
Vs Idaho St: 108 yds
Vs Utah (injured): 6 yds
Vs Toledo: 65 yds

I never thought he was that good. Thus the reason why he got dumped everywhere he’s gone.

We could've used him last year.

And the safety moved to QB.
Apparently he might have concussion issues, so probably a good move for his long term health.

Turns out the Safety, Jalen Mayden, is a transfer from Miss State who was signed on as a 4 star duel threat QB from Texas.
With SD St's regular season over, we can look back and see how SD St turned around their offense once ridding themselves of both Burmeister and their OC (who they gave the reigns to former QB Linley):
G1: Burmeister
51 yds (L)
G2: Burmeister
108 yds (W)
G3: Burmeister
6 yds (L)
G4: Burmeister
65 yds (W)
G5: Burmeister
33 yds (L)
Benched - San Diego State 2-3
G6: Mayden
322 yds (W)
G7: Mayden
156 yds (W)
G8: Mayden
291 yds (L)
G9: Mayden
216 yds (W)
G10: Mayden
268 yds (W)
G11: Mayden
280 yds (W)
G12: Mayden
188 yds (L)
San Diego St finishes 7-5 - Mayden 5-2 as starting QB
