This thread is dedicated to those who regret their university switching from their traditional conference for more TV money and the denser schedules of the SEC and Big Ten.

Let's start with this Oklahoma fan:

The only logical Sooner fan I've seen. UT & OU are going to be just another TA&M in the SEC.

What's next, not winning the conference title in football?

Ugh

Aren't Machina and AZCatFan2 always going on what's best for the school?

Without a doubt, bringing more money into the school is better for it.

Texas has the largest endowment of any public university - over $42 billion

The Athletic Department already donates to the rest of the university...
Texas Athletics – a self-sustaining arm of the university – has a total FY 2019-20 budget of $187 million. It fully supports itself and generates revenue for the university's academic enterprises. It is among the few national athletics programs that receives no revenue from student fees, institutional or state sources.

Oh, so PAC payouts are going up by $15M per school over two years?

Ha!

Hmmm, my comment is missing. I had said this is dated due to the recent implosion of the PAC-12, but the SEC and B1G money seems accurate.

But isn't this besides the point? More money is better for the University to feed back into scholarship programs, new buildings, trendier guest speakers, another Pepsi vending machine in the student union.

But there's a ceiling on more money translating to more football or basketball wins, especially when every SEC school is receiving the same nearly 9 figure payout and can all pay their football coach $12M/yr. Look at Texas A&M with all those advantages going 5-7 last season.

For every university administrator saluting the higher TV payouts, how many hundreds or thousands of fans like the above Sooner will appreciate the added losses that come with a doomsday 2024 schedule: Vs Texas, @ Auburn, @ LSU, Vs Alabama, Vs South Carolina, Vs Tennessee?

I'd sure rather be in a position with "more money" than less if you are trying to compete at the highest level. Just need to be sure you are using it correctly to build the program that can compete with the 'Bama's, Georgia's, LSU's, etc...

If they do this right - and that means the right coaching & recruiting - I don't see why they along with Texas can't compete regularly in the SEC in a few years.

We are talking Oklahoma & Texas football, not Vanderbilt.
