Nice little run the last couple weeks, finally taking advantage of a soft spot in the schedule.
Yep, doing what they couldn’t do last year. Get out of the first couple weeks with a winning record and beating up on the teams they should.
Very happy to see the bats come alive.

Despite ALL my bitching about this team . . . they have the best record in baseball.
Big series coming up in Toronto. They can easily flip the script on the Yanks.

11 wins in a row and they have the chance to sweep the Jays tomorrow.

Big time two-game sweep of the Blue Jays and the Yankees have won 14 of their last 16. Even better news is that Gleyber Torres has been hitting the ball and the offense seems to be rounding into shape (still need to get Gallo and Donaldson going, and Rizzo has cooled off but not too worried there).
The Yankees are now headed to Chicago to play the Sox. Taking the whole family on Sunday.

I hated Josh Donaldson when he was on other teams.
I love Josh Donaldson on the Yankees.
Josh Donaldson is the Kerr Kriisa of MLB.

Not liking this latest Donaldson shit.
I get it that Anderson referred to himself as the new Jackie Robinson, and I get ribbing a guy for comparing himself to someone he has no business comparing himself to, but I don’t like that this is an opportunity for everyone who hates the Yankees to say that they’re all racists and that the fans are apologists for racists.
That being said, Tim Anderson is soft as warm butter and would not be saying shit if his team wasn’t 1-4 against the Yankees this year.

21 tweets with citations and it was all very informative and relevant.
Very proud of my team tonight. That was about the most socially conscious thing I think they’ve ever done.

5 straight wins and they’ve only given up 3 runs total in those five and only 6 hits total in the last three. Pitching has been nothing short of phenomenal.

A 7.5 game lead in early June when the two teams chasing the Yanks have +.570 winning percentages is really goddamn good.
Trying not to get my hopes up since they’re really just a Judge/Starting Pitcher injury away from falling back to the pack, but they really are doing their best 1998 “we play today, we win today” impression.

Then stop talking about it. You know your jinx powers...
Have to admit they are playing incredible baseball. Like the Secretariat call at the Belmont they are "moving like a tremendous machine."

Rather they fall back to the pack in early June due to a Chicat jinx than watch them falter early in the playoffs (again) because I got my hopes up.

to me the entire key to the team this year is CC Sabathia - he has taken an always loaded Yankee rotation and given them that extra life and energy that makes ELITE talent unstoppable.
so gifted as a group they have bonded together and have incredible chemistry...as long as this staff keeps vibing like this the Yankees should win the American League.

Great call 97.
It’s been really cool seeing the starting rotation both be each other’s biggest fans AND challenge each other to be the best they possibly can be. The Athletic had an article recently about how they challenged themselves to pitch deeper into games and it’s paid off beautifully both in wins and saving the bullpen which was lights out to begin the season but now is suffering from the injury bug.
They won’t be this good all season. Nestor and Taillon will come back down to earth. But if the Yanks go .500 the rest of the way they’ll still end up with like 95 wins so in many ways the starters have already accomplished a huge goal for the team this season.

Did I miss CC coming back from retirement or being named the pitching coach? Or is this just some joke that is flying way over my head?
I think 97 was referring to CC being at Spring Training this year with the Yankees.

I guess Gary Sanchez gave the Twins the lowdown on Cole. 4 homers, 6 runs in less than two innings. They went back-to-back-to-back to start off the game.
Also, this is three shitty games in a row for the starters. I knew this stretch wouldn’t last forever but it’s still a little shocking.

The Yankees were actually buyers during the trading deadline and have been pretty bad since. Hopefully it is just a matter of the new guys meshing and they can turn it around quickly.
Too bad no Chi to react...but the Yanks are certainly slumping. Some nights it's pitching and other nights their bats go silent. Noticed they have struggled a little more when facing better quality teams like Houston, Mets and the Cards.
Met's are really, really tough. It's the one team I don't want to see my Dodgers face. Their pitching is lights out especially with deGrom back.
If Chi won't reappear and throw himself into the breach for the Evil Empire he is well and truly gone.
“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition …There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”
Losing last night 3-1 makes for 1 run in last three games and 5 total runs in the last 5 games. The hell happened to the batting order? Pitching is doing their job.
And I said, ‘That last thing is what you can't get...Nobody can get to that last thing. We keep on living in hopes of catching it once and for all.’ Jack Kerouac, On The Road
Cole pitched well albeit against a banjo-hitting Cleveland team.
Plus a couple of dingers including a 2 run shot by Rizzo was all the Yanks needed last night.
As a Yankee fan I am not looking forward to it, I can handle losing to other teams but not a team that showed no remorse or received no real punishment for their obscene cheating.
