Maddon should be fired for how poor of a decision maker he is in the playoffs. Just because it works does not mean it is correct.Catintheheat wrote:The Cubs definitely didn't win the game, Washington lost it. Although a couple game performances from Contreras and the pick-off at first. And the 7 out performance of Wade Davis. I am beginning to believe the Nationals are more cursed than the Cubs.
I still don't like the way Maddon uses his players during the playoffs. Just a lot of head scratchers. I don't believe the Cubs will win a game against the Dodgers. They are beat and, this year, the Dodgers are a lot better, especially in the bullpen. Still...It is nice to be in the NLCS for the third year in a row. I'm starting to get used to the Cubs in the postseason.
Totally. As a Cubs fan I'd like Madden a lot more had he been making the correct call and losing playoff series than making all of these incorrect calls and winning themPHXCATS wrote:Maddon should be fired for how poor of a decision maker he is in the playoffs. If the Cubs pull off two games, they are probably taking the National League pennant. Their pitching is pretty wrecked right now and if they can't jump all over the Cubs, they are probably going to get swept.PHXCATS wrote:Maddon should be fired for how poor of a decision maker he is in the playoffs. Contreras saved the day for sure.
Cubs win at least two games. Dodgers are good but they are not that good. The Diamondbacks just were not ready yet and the pitching was so bad in the playoffs.
I am not saying the Diamondbacks win in 2018 but I think 2017 was what 2015 was to the Cubs. Not as great as the Cubs beating the Cardinals but that post season experience was needed.
Tonight sealed it. This year has been better than even any of the championship years I’ve experienced.Chicat wrote:This might be my favorite Yankee team since 1995.
Yup. Bellinger's warning shot clears if it weren't for the marine layer. Worked out the win vs Verlander and going to the pen too early ended up being the undoing84Cat wrote:Dodgers let this game slip away. They will regret losing this one
i actually dont agree with this at all, the ball was jumping like a bouncy-ball out of the park last night due to the hot weather.MrBug708 wrote: Yup. Bellinger's warning shot clears if it weren't for the marine layer.

Darvish may be the nicest person in MLBAlieberman wrote:This series has been very good... only 1 thing missing.
I wanna see Darvish plunk Gurriel!
i know it's not going to happen... I just want it to happen.MrBug708 wrote:If the Dodgers face Gurriel next year, he's getting thrown at. You can't put baserunners on this game though and Darvish won't be the guy throwing at him, for reasons 97 said
Have you watched the rest of the series?Merkin wrote:Can the UA basketball game start early?

To be honest, this is the first baseball game I have watched in decades. So if the Dodgers could come back, I will gladly eat my words.azgreg wrote:Have you watched the rest of the series?Merkin wrote:Can the UA basketball game start early?

Other than last night this whole series has been nothing but large swings both ways. If I were Houston I wouldn't feel comfortable yet.Merkin wrote:To be honest, this is the first baseball game I have watched in decades. Leaving the bases loaded in the 1st with no runs is not a good omen though.
