I guess Miller saw the writing on the wall and gave up.
“The reality is that the hardest games to win are over teams on their home court. Teams that don’t play those games can spin it however they want, but what they’re saying is, ‘We don’t want to lose in our non conference season.’" - Sean Miller

the two year TJ window has closed
Re: NCAA Tournament Game 4, vs Wisconsin
10/11 on threes for the half?
amazing showing

Re: NCAA Tournament Game 4, vs Wisconsin
12-18 at the three. Anyone would beat Arizona with, or just about any team in the nation.
Formerly Lynx Rufus.

SEEM coaching small in the biggest game
It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:
Re: NCAA Tournament Game 4, vs Wisconsin
Just can't wins games against luck from three like that
Re: NCAA Tournament Game 4, vs Wisconsin
And TJ starts crying. Knew he would.
Sorry TJ. I should've done what I first thought and not picked your for RAP again.

Bring in Korcheck the senior.
Re: NCAA Tournament Game 4, vs Wisconsin
I will be rooting for UK. Fuck this Wisky team. No respect at all.
Re: NCAA Tournament Game 4, vs Wisconsin
10/12 in the second half. Most of those with hands in the face. Just wow. Nothing you can do. No one to blame, really. Just cannot overcome that

I don't mean to be an ass, but he needs to not cry on the court.AZCatGirl wrote:And TJ starts crying. Knew he would.
I get that he puts his heart and soul into it and we love him for that, but no crying on the court.
Re: NCAA Tournament Game 4, vs Wisconsin
And Stanley with the absolute no show
Re: NCAA Tournament Game 4, vs Wisconsin

Watch, they'll shoot like 3/25 against kentucky from 3
Re: NCAA Tournament Game 4, vs Wisconsin
How do you not foul Decker before he shoots in that dagger 3 after wasting about 30 seconds?? SMDH

Re: NCAA Tournament Game 4, vs Wisconsin
i don't think anyone ever expected wisconsin to shoot 10-12 (83%) from three in the second half. that was unbelievable. hats off to them.

Re: NCAA Tournament Game 4, vs Wisconsin
There were some coaching mistakes, and like somebody said.. what the heck happened to the drive and kick , drive/ assist ? But that fricking 3 point barrage was just ridiculous. Dammit. I'm going to the gym. Later y'all.

Defense is great, but the college game is structure for offensive firepower.
Miller and the staff need to embrace this concept.

The whole team would of fouled out. How does that help us?dmjcat wrote:PieceOfMeat wrote:complete and utter stupidity by Miller not having us foul them right off.

I was thinking exactly the same thing... ok I'm outta here to go bake the frustration out of me in the sauna. Peace out.etank34 wrote:Watch, they'll shoot like 3/25 against kentucky from 3

And this program has never had a night like that on this stage, ever.etank34 wrote:10/12 in the second half. Most of those with hands in the face. Just wow. Nothing you can do. No one to blame, really. Just cannot overcome that
Re: NCAA Tournament Game 4, vs Wisconsin
Just a combination of Wisconsin playing their best offensive half of the year and us playing our worst defense in several years. I'm already over it.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.
i'll just go with fuck asu.

I know, they definitely will.etank34 wrote:Watch, they'll shoot like 3/25 against kentucky from 3
This is just like Dunleavy in the title game. Wisconsin had two guys get in the zone again tonight and nothing you can do. We have horrible luck it seems like. Wisconsin won the game behind the arc, it was the difference plain and simple. Sucks.
Re: NCAA Tournament Game 4, vs Wisconsin
Don't think there's anyone to blame for anything. Totally different game if they miss just 2 or 3 of those 3s.
Dekker is money.... Kaminsky is a fine player, but he's a whiny bitch, Dekker I actually kinda like

We played great defense for the most part. Step back 3's? C'mon nothing you can do about those.

In the last two elite 8's Wisconsin has shown that Elite offense >> Elite Defense.
Miller needs to raise his game. If Pasternack or Stoudamire land a head coaching gig somewhere Sean would be well served hiring a more senior ex-coach with a good grasp of offense....such as the system Altman runs at Oregon. Unless 2 out of 3 of RHJ/Bash/Tarc return Miller HAS to switch to a 3 guard offense given the personnel he has returning. I don't believe that Comanche is going to be able to contribute at a high level for a few years.
PJC/Simon/Trier/Pitts/Gabe/Allen.............Miller needs to adapt as Lute would have
Re: NCAA Tournament Game 4, vs Wisconsin
Did I miss a discussion or thread on this? Why didnt he want them to foul?loomer wrote:Either that was laughable coaching or stupid players
I was next to our bench and Miller called our guys off. He must have figured we would get a stop and didn't need to give them any FTs
Really wish we would have pressed the final 5-7 minutes. It worked a couple times and could have been a game changer. Hind sight though...
Had an awesome time either way
Re: NCAA Tournament Game 4, vs Wisconsin (2014-2015)
It's an interesting discussion, though ultimately it really wouldn't have made a difference, the way Wisconsin was shooting that half. We didn't really do that at ASU either.
It might have been that final detail Miller let get away from him because he was so burnt out on getting the team that far. When you're so used to playing a certain way, being put into a position of desperation is, like with the zone, a point of pride and something you elect not to utilize because it's not your team's game.
The program will eventually get over this hump, but like others, I think we're overdue for some more favorable regional matchups and wouldn't mind seeing what we could do in the East or Midwest.

Dekker got hot because Stanley was out for almost 6 minutes. If only Brandon didn't poke him in the eye...Crazy bad luck
