It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:
Re: Game 2, vs Cal Poly (2018-2019)
Need to get Merk's scouting report on Cal Poly. Saw we were a 22 point favorite so maybe a lot like HBU?

They were picked second to last in their conference preseason polls. On paper they're supposed to be pretty bad.azcat49 wrote:Need to get Merk's scouting report in California Poly. Saw we were a 22 point favorite so maybe a lot like HBU?
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

I haven't seen them yet, but they are pretty bad.
However the CP AD sure could use the $85K or whatever the UA pays now to come in and get beat down.

Re: Game 2, vs Cal Poly (2018-2019)
Cal poly is even worse than Houston Baptist, should be a beat down.
Re: Game 2, vs Cal Poly (2018-2019)
Well then we can hope to view some objective improvement in spacing, shot selection and defense I guess.
If both these teams end up +300 in RPI then we better win the Vegas tourney as it may be the only way we get into March madness

I'm looking forward to hearing RJ on the call the most.

Interested to see how RJ does! No clue he was signed on to do commentary for the P12.

Continuation is a NBA rule, not college RJ!
Re: Game 2, vs Cal Poly (2018-2019)
Our offense is so anemic still. This game should be over already.

Good gang rebounding.
Love seeing Akot in the middle of this weird zone.

Well at least the zone hasn't paralyzed us.

Not able to watch, but boy does it seem like we're having trouble to put away a team that just narrowly qualifies as D-1.
Re: Game 2, vs Cal Poly (2018-2019)
We really need to work on closing out the 3 point shooter.

Dylan Smith is playing a lot better today. Making a difference. Keep it up.
Re: Game 2, vs Cal Poly (2018-2019)
Randolph is getting lost on D way too much
Re: Game 2, vs Cal Poly (2018-2019)
Dylan is going to win the defensive awards every game isn't he?

I guess Smith is this year's punching bag among the fans
Re: Game 2, vs Cal Poly (2018-2019)
Well offensively we had much better spacing and flow. Hard to say if that was our improvement from the first game of if Cal Poly just let's you set up where you want to

Unfortunately some of the 'fans' on this board would complain if we were up 30 in the national championship game with a minute to go and missed a free throw.cats101 wrote:I guess Smith is this year's punching bag among the fans
Re: Game 2, vs Cal Poly (2018-2019)
Brandon Williams is really good defensively. At least against the comp we have played so far.

Tim Duncan trained Jeter's shot arc.

30-4 run

30-4 run. Bring back that spurt of death. Already can't wait for our next game. The ride this year will be a Roller coaster but I think like a Roller coaster one we will all enjoy

Have we dunked the ball tonight?
Re: Game 2, vs Cal Poly (2018-2019)
Doutrive just turned into a combination of Vince Carter and Kyrie Irving. What a move.
Re: Game 2, vs Cal Poly (2018-2019)
I get worked up during the games too but I guess I'm not understanding the hate for Smith. If anything, what's the point of Barcello. I get he doesn't plas as much but what's the point if you can't hit wide open 3s.Captain Obvious wrote:Unfortunately some of the 'fans' on this board would complain if we were up 30 in the national championship game with a minute to go and missed a free throw.cats101 wrote:I guess Smith is this year's punching bag among the fans
Anyway, I like the teamwork of this team. Interested to see the offense against a better team.

Randolph is impressive with how he can take a lot of contact in a drive and then put up a nice soft shot to the rim.

Barcello got the curse of “Best shooter in practice”.
I see him being a lot like BLavender, not really flourishing until he is a senior

It will be interesting to see what the rotation is in Maui. I'm not sure Barcello has earn much playing time
