Akinjo won't sleep well tonight after that awful performance.
9 assists, but 6 TOs, and 2-9 FTs.

Tough pill to swallow. But for having a young team in a season that is as difficult as this one, I am not too disappointed in the outcome.

Anyone else catch the play early in the first half where the Stanford player made a pass underneath the basket and had half his foot out of bounds? went for a 3 point play

We were atrocious at defending the Pick n Roll. Absolutely terrible. The switch to zone helped, but we couldn’t rebound well out of it. We have a team with a lot of newcomers and this will be a good physical close game that is good experience on the road. They should learn and grow a lot from this game. I like the fight we showed after playing horrible in the first half.

Well the streak had to end sometime. :/ Hope we work on free throws.
“The reality is that the hardest games to win are over teams on their home court. Teams that don’t play those games can spin it however they want, but what they’re saying is, ‘We don’t want to lose in our non conference season.’" - Sean Miller

It sounds like Miller is fed up with the way they are calling charge fouls.
Can’t say that I blame him. That last call on Akinjo was ridiculous.

The block/charge calls and post flopping has made been horrible in college basketball for years. Sadly it has not getting any better and truly disrupts the flow of the game. Until leagues and referees decide to cal it differently it’s. Not going to change.
Coaches will coach their players to do it. Just like run full speed at dribble handoff to pick up an offensive foul.

Of course. It's this way every decent non-con or conference opponent.CalStateTempe wrote: ↑Sun Dec 20, 2020 4:39 pm Sounds like different season same stuff just reading the thread

This team is a year away (at least) from high level consistent success. Expecting that this year is a fool’s errand.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?
