The officiating has had zero impact on this deficit. None.PieceOfMeat wrote:well obviously you're wrong, since I did say otherwise.catgrad97 wrote:So you're ok with billk78 saying the same thing I am but ny comment is bullshit?
Just the opposite, in fact. There's no way anyone could say otherwise. Quit turning on fans and let's start challenging this team to stop doggin' it on the floor.
Thing 1 can be true.
Thing 2 can be true.
Thing 1 being true can have no bearing on thing 2 being true.
There's no way anyone could say otherwise.
AZ playing like it's playing isn't winning this game, quite obviously, but that has no bearing on the craptastic officiating and being able to point out just how craptastic it is.
It is flat-out irresponsible to try and justify that.
No, POM, it is you who are wrong in this case.
Re: Pac-12 Tournament Game 2, vs. Oregon (2015-2016)
It doesnt matter how athletic you are, if your a guard and drive by your man and there are two 6'9 guys in the paint, your shit gets sent into the second row. If you get the ball on the low block and take your sweet ass time putting it in the hoop, and bend over and make yourself 6'3 and do half ass pump fakes and wait 2 seconds so a second defender can get on u, and then try to go up with it, your shit gets sent into the second row.legallykenny wrote:This team is really not athletic so they can't finish or even create enough contact to get the foul call.pokinmik wrote:Our guys keep driving to the hole with this weak ass layups without ever pump faking or putting a move on. Oregon keeps swatting them and it fueled their run. Just lazy all around for us pretty much.

Point is that he shouldn't have gotten himself into the position of needing these transfers and running out s makeshift garbage PG. If a guy lasts three or four years at another school and still needs more college ball, he's not good enough.billk78 wrote:That's a bit harsh. Oregon is a horrible matchup for us. By getting grad transfers and turning Kadeem into a somewhat reasonable PG, Miller had this team win a lot more games than they should have, especially considering all the injuries.legallykenny wrote:I hope this year has been a learning experience for Sean. No more relying on transfers and you have to have a PG in college basketball.
Don't think I'm going to really miss anyone from this team except for Zeus.

rgdeuce, they may not get it, but in truth this years team ceiling is just not very high. Ore has as good of a coaching staff as us, but they have an even better team from top to bottom than we do. Just too much speed and athleticism.rgdeuce wrote:Refs have been bad, but we are doing a good enough job of embarrassing ourselves to where u cant even be mad about it. If our guys dont want to get up for a big game like this, and embarrass themselves in the process, I just rather they take their jerseys off and get on the bus.
THIS TEAM JUST DOES NOT GET IT. They never will.
This really isn't that big of a surprise to me, except the blow out part.

except i'm not, you're the one with the incorrect premise. I've never claimed the officiating is the reason we're losing. you seem to think I am. I'm not. I'm simply pointing out that it's bullshit to ask fans not to call out horrific officiating when they see it, regardless of whether or not the team is playing well or playing like crap.catgrad97 wrote:The officiating has had zero impact on this deficit. All of our losses except for one is a product of our own doing. The ceiling talk is bullshit. A better way to look at it is this team does not have the superior talent to sleepwalk through games and win.Gladiator Cat wrote:rgdeuce, they may not get it, but in truth this years team ceiling is just not very high. Desire determines your ceiling. And nobody's stepping it up in March for this team.
Blaming others besides the players for this loss is such complete and utter BS it is ludicrous. No, this team has not put in the requisite effort justify blaming the refs.

Re: Pac-12 Tournament Game 2, vs. Oregon (2015-2016)
So true. We need the influx of talent next year in worst way. Best shot at winning a title is to have a dual threat, solid at minimum pg and a stable of athletic scoring and defending studs on the wing.legallykenny wrote:Point is that he shouldn't have gotten himself into the position of needing these transfers and running out s makeshift garbage PG. question for ryan on the bench - is this another game where he sulks and we lose, or will he pull it together and gut out a W?

Damn I'm really loving Chance. Imagine what he'll be like as a senior.

Trier should have 6 fouls by now, the refs should stop giving him preferential treatment

Yes, Ristic needs to sit for the rest of the game.
