Anyone here still pushing "Win & Vacate" over self sanctions????

I'll say it again (and I know I'll be pilloried) but if our own internal investigation shows we are guilty we should
sacrifice this team and self sanction THIS year. This teams NCAA hopes are NOT worth the next 2-3 years of the UA basketball program.

Miller is a better coach of teams with less talent. Look at his Xavier teams. It just seems like he cant get through to these guys that think they already have a spot in the NBA.

It wouldn't bother me if CSM is not here next year. For what he has he has this season he has underachieved big time. The Cats look like they don't care anymore. I am believing he has lost the team.

I thought Miller would have left when the PAC refs were targeting him.
Yeah I thought that could happen as well. I still feel Miller is the right man for the job. I just think he has a group that's been harder for him to manage when normally he excels at that.

It will be an interesting NCAA tourney this year. I don't have the faintest idea who out there can pull off four games in a row. It's a good year for teams that give it everything they have and just push through with hunger.

Arizona was bad out of the gate tonight. They got back in the game when UCLA played horribly for a stretch.

Arizona teams aren't supposed to sleepwalk against UCLA. Trier did his job tonight. So did Pinder. Even Ayton was fine, except for poor shooting (he had some horrible passes thrown to him that took him out of position). Smith played to his own level. But to a man, every other player on Arizona was sleepwalking and completely helpless.

I think the fundamental problem with this team is point guard. That's not to say everyone else is without blame or there aren't issues elsewhere. But we simply don't control the point of attack on offense or defense. It's just difficult to play uphill like that. When our other four players are superior to the opponent, then ok. But we never, ever have a definitive edge at point guard. And it effects everyone and breaks things down across the board.

Defense still sucks across the board. Until that gets fixed we might as well not even waste time playing offense. Duke has the same problem. A ton of talent but if you dont play team defense it doesnt matter.

Let's look at the history here.

Who can you say without a doubt is the most competitive, intense, prepared.... Would you say maybe Miller's time here has shown he is always these things? And you think, well, maybe he has changed and is different, and the things he's been saying aren't actually true, the guys really ARE playing hard, it's definitely a coaching issue.

If you think that, I don't know what to say. You think it's the coach's fault that Trier, Rawle, Randolph, PJC, and Dylan have literally no will or ability to keep a man in front of them, with Dusan waiting behind them? I mean, if you want to blame him for recruiting them sure. But cmon, this is effort all the way. It's clear as day.

What a pathetic effort all around. It just looks like they don't care to be honest. 5 minutes left in the second half and down by 12 and theyre walking it around in slow motion with no intensity or purpose. Why can't they create any shots whatsoever? Everything is forced after a slow milking of the shot clock. I hate this offense so much. keep saying the defense is bad (it is) but the offense is just as pathetic at times. We can't get it to Ayton. Although even when we did tonight he couldnt shoot. Alkins just isnt the same. PJC is a bench player. Man I want this team to succeed it's just so hard to watch right now. Miller has to consider giving in and changing the damn offensive style up a little bit.

We dont have the shooters to beat the zones teams throw at us so you beat that by scoring off of turnovers. The problem is that we dont create any because our defense sucks.

I'm not sure he means that but as someone else said Miller is a system coach with players that don't seem to buy into that system.

I don't see this as a coaching issue. A personnel issue perhaps, which falls on the coach. But not a coaching or tactical issue. We have a point guard who isn't worthy of the Pac 12. I'm not hating on PJC as a person or a teammate. He is just a huge liability and I suppose you can and should pin that on Miller. Maybe Miller thought by year four that PJC would be a different player. But he is what he is. I would take every single Pac 12 point guard over PJC, and it's not even a tough decision. The trouble is, benching him or cutting his minutes to a role player really doesn't change much. That's why it's so frustrating, because a point guard generally can everyone else better, i.e. make your team greater than the sum of its parts.

Yeah, we've known it all along. Despite the rampant coaching criticism in this thread, Miller is obviously the most qualified to figure out the best possible solution. But as a stupid fan, I think we need more Akot defending the point, more ball handling from Trier, and more PJC on the bench. Unless the defense forces Arizona's hand with a full-court press. But it's not like PJC is going to be scoring more than Akot.

I can agree with you there. But even in transition tonight we were so sloppy. Rawle was a big part of that. Really they just don't play hard. Whether that's players fault or Miller's fault I suppose it's up to interpretation. I think it's a little of both. This recruiting class aside from Ayton has been a huge disappointment. And for as good as Ayton is I'd trade him for a TJ Mcconnell any day. Like I said leadership, effort, heart is not there with this squad. At least I have not seen it yet.

3 players that can't play defense (pjc the midget, Trier with no lateral speed, Ristic with feet of clay)
1 guard who is very very rusty (Alkins)
1 coach who doesn't know what to do against a zone.

A very bad combination
