Jesus, Dylan Smith. Did Miller expressly tell him, "We don't need you to shoot in this tournament" back on Thursday?

And we did it with mediocre outside shooting. Trier was ice cold the last two games and we still shredded the zone.

They just showed that whole replay of Rawle's dunk. Casey Jacobsen asked him, point-blank, "Was that an and-one?"

Rawle: "That was a foul. I'm still bleeding."

 That answer ALMOST made up for a terrible first half. WTG Rawle!

Arizona had more rebounds in the first half (20) than USC had all game (19).

Arizona had more rebounds in the second half (22) than USC had all game (19).

Arizona out-rebounded USC 42-19.

The entire USC team out-rebounded Ayton by 1 freaking rebound. One.

That's something to behold.

Andy Enfield after the game said he thought his team's defense was good and they lost because they missed a lot of open shots they usually make.

WTF?

How many dunks did Ayton have on the Trojan defense? If we hit a few more wide open three's (Dylan Smith 0-5, Arizona 4-17 from 3) then the game is a blowout.

That moment in the game was some hilarious reffing: on the network provided replay Metu clearly dose a huge clearout on Ayton, who somehow flies away. Then somewhere behind Metu was Alkins, hands up getting whistled for no apparent reason.

This is status quo for Enfield - living in SoCal and listening to local sports talk rip him up for his post games where he places the blame on everyone but himself is hilarious. Always the same narrative, "Our game plan was solid we just didn't do X/Y/Z (the players)"

I thought Miller out coached Enfield. USC stayed in that zone when it was clear Arizona had it solved and was getting a ton of easy shots inside.

It's really choose your poison when we figure out an opponents zone. I would give credit to Miller and his staff for making the right adjustments (over the top passes) at halftime more than anything.

Brings up another good point. It feels like this group is more and more comfortable against zone defenses than ever before. Ball movement is crisp most of the time and getting the ball to one of our bigs at the high post provides a lot more options - elbow jumper (which either Ayton or Duse can hit), lob to the other big at the rim, or pass out to the wing for an open 3.

The defensive adjustment at halftime against the pick and roll should be noted too

But I was assured by Rise&Fire that Sean Miller doesn't make defensive adjustments and can't coach against a zone.

For sure - we were getting torched on that play over and over in the first half. Don't know that they ever scored on it in the 2nd Half? I know they tried it once and we knocked the ball away for a TO.
