Their idiot coach came out of the zone and gave us two wide open 3's

It seems we don't grasp what is needed on defense until the halftime break and it gets hammered into us by our coaches...sheesh!

Andy Enfield: "Arizona only had 3 fouls, I'm not sure how they did that, but they played good defense."

Let me help you out, Andy. Arizona had only 3 fouls because USC ceaselessly scored uncontested layups and dunks.

They're not going to continue to shoot 59% from the field...I hope...but we aren't going to continue to shoot 50% from 3. Some packline D would help the dribble penetration, guys, how 'bout it?

SC will shot 59% if they are wide open layups. The d must step up if we want to win this game. Maybe play some zone to mix it up.

Exactly. It's not like USC shot 35% on lots of contested/physical shot attempts; they shot 57% on lots of dunks and layups.

If so, it will be the first time Miller calls a zone with his full lineup available.

An Arizona team, especially one coached by CSM, playing Zone D feels like, I dunno, ordering a Tempranillo with pork belly. It just feels wrong, and then, the W that may transpire makes it all go away.

Hilariously that possession where Allen picked up the ball at the mid court line with three seconds left against the zone was only a just below average possession for us against the zone

Say what you want about Deem...nobody on our team has his dribble penetration sense. Zo is good but he banks on the foul to make it work. Deem just beats his man ans make the hoop.

Miller obviously called this timeout to address the dunkfest-enabling defense.

We are not a superior defensive team and if we don't rise in the KenPom rating for it we will have a real hard time going deep in the Dance.
