They clogg the passing lanes with the zone and collapse on him with 2-3 people.
So what??? He's the best big man in the country - and in Arizona history - and He's the third or fourth option on offense.

No excuse whatsoever

Are you watching? They triple team him. Unacceptable if he takes shots when triple teamed

What would you expect to see if Ayton played for Self?

Crying Roy?

Coach K?

Izzo?

It's a Crying shame!!!

I'm not sure about the Great Recruiter tag. Once we get through sanctions we'll find out if Miller really is a great recruiter or if our past recruiting success was due to Book & Bags of Money.

Miller is an excellent defensive coach with mid-major offensive coaching skills.

Biggest problem is he's playing Ayton on the high block because Ristic is occupying what space Ayton should have. With a shooter like Lauri that works fine enough.

Tie game at half 30-30. One big difference between this game and the 1st game at Cu (where they led 45-29) is that PJC has not been grossly abused by the Buffs PG.

The only way to force them to stop putting at least 3 guys around Ayton is if we start making outside shots.

Overall happy with the defense. Some random brain farts but overall doing some nice things. The long rebound/fast break points is what is killing us. Missed way too many open 3s.

Thats one way to loosen up a zone.........the other way is to break down the zone with penetration and force the bigs to stop the
penetrator. Unfortunately, we rarely do that. Our game plan against the zone appears to be: Pass the ball around the perimeter until the shot clock drops to 5 seconds and then:

1) Jack up an NBA 3
2) Jack up a contested college 3
3) Let the shot clock expire

good gawd I cannot stand Casey Jacobsen and his donkey little buddy. FS1 blows.

These refs suck too. Trier should have gotten an and one on his drive.

Ayton touches the ball, but they call it before he can dunk it.

McKale sucks tonight. Lame ass crowd. Tad talks shit about your team and you show up late and cheer a little bit here and there.

We are trying to win a conference championship and work our way back to a top seed in the NCAA gawd dammit... our players need to show up! play with fire! play for your damn coach.

One positive- defense much better than first game.

I thought so too - I only started following around the last 10 minutes of the half but I was impressed (by our relative standards) at the rotations and closeouts. Granted it is only against the Buffs, but still something to be positive about.

Our best shot was in '14 because we had a NBA PG and played team defense. The talent was secondary to those two things.

you know he is averaging 20 and 11 right?

Way more than Embiid (Self), Zach Randolph (Izzo), Jaren Jackson (Izzo), Jahlil Okafor (K), Harry Giles (K) etc, etc. Pretty much any freshman big any of those coaches have ever coached besides Bagley. And you can throw Anthony Davis and Karl Anthony-Towns in there for Cal and still none of them compare.

He's one of the most awesome talents I've ever seen as a frosh. He does get his stuff.... eventually.

But, please,. Talk about how he was utilized in the first half of THIS GAME.

Is that what you want to see with this talent???

another way to breakdown a zone is pressure on the other end, leading to more transition buckets before the zone is set up
