Zeke has not even attempted a shot tonight. Got to get him the ball.

I feel like Arizona will struggle against player's like that, the Dillon Brooks types.
Unfortunately we don't have anyone taller than 6'5 who can play in the wing defensively.
Clip you're so helpful because I'm just yelling "we're getting out scheme'd!" at my wife while she nods at her glass of pinotTucsonClip wrote:Pretty simple guys. They watched the Buffalo tape. Your basketball knowledge dwarfs mine and most of us—so I’m sure you’re right. But in the end they scored 32 points. And shot better than they will moving forward. It’s not about our defense. It’s what we are doing to ourselves (and they are doing to us) on offense.TucsonClip wrote:Pretty simple guys. They watched the Buffalo tape. Sigh, I'd like to argue but you're right.TucsonClip wrote:Pretty simple guys. They watched the Buffalo tape. Same spread ball screen actions, slipping PNRs, active on the offensive glass, beating guys off the dribble.
They're using this #35 guy who is like 6'7 in the post so Arizona can't do that.Frybry02 wrote:Josh green needs to be the guy that handles that dutyRondaeShimmy wrote:#35 on SDSU is too big for any of the wings and too mobile for anybody the bigs on this team.

Yep, South Dakota State's coach is really good. I'm surprised he hasn't found a better job.YoDeFoe wrote:Clip you're so helpful because I'm just yelling "we're getting out scheme'd!" at my wife while she nods at her glass of pinotTucsonClip wrote:Pretty simple guys. Except IRA would foul out in 5min. Ira Lee should be the one, guy is killing Nnaji and Jeter attacking. He's too fast for them.

It’s his first year there. Or that’s what I thought I heard.Catintheheat wrote:Yep, South Dakota State's coach is really good. That makes sense. If he keeps coaching like this he won't be there for long.ByJoveByJingle wrote:It’s his first year there. Its a bit of both, because things could be much worse. While we have 12 TOs, they have 13 of their own. Not worried, because I think well break through on offense (in the paint, drives, post ups, offensive rebounds) and the D will come around. I don't think so. This guy is such a wimp and really unlikable.Postmaster wrote:Is it the same people?Merkin wrote:I hate that fucking van camping commercial.
I liked the one last year when the guy bought a van online.
Yeah those offensive rebounds are killing us, too. Thanks as always for your knowledgeable insight!TucsonClip wrote:Its a bit of both, because things could be much worse. Pretty obvious they watched the Buffalo tape. Same spread ball screen actions, slipping PNRs, active on the offensive glass, beating guys off the dribble. They are also competing and active on defense. Controlling the paint with numbers and bodies.
Meanwhile, defense on the ball has just been sloppy. Some unnecessary switches, splits on hedges, beat off the dribble, stupid fouls, giving up offensive rebounds, not hustling to get back into defensive position after the initial action.
This half looks like a bunch of young/new guys in the program. Lets see what adjustments Miller makes at the half. Thinking we see less trapping those side ball screens, playing a bit more straight Miller packline to keep guys in position.
every competent team has done the same thing to us for the last 5 yearsTucsonClip wrote:Pretty simple guys. They watched the Buffalo tape. Same spread ball screen actions, slipping PNRs, active on the offensive glass, beating guys off the dribble.
Did we lose to every competent team in the last 5 years? That would suck if we did.SunnyAZ wrote:every competent team has done the same thing to us for the last 5 yearsTucsonClip wrote:Pretty simple guys. They watched the Buffalo tape. slip pnr, empty side pnPop to a wide open 3 (they have one this game from that), split the pnr, quick short roll to hit the backside corner 3pt, stop that back screen for the big from the corner pass, etc

The Cats are going to learn a lot from this game. Mainly who to put on the floor against a team like this.AZCatGirl wrote:This is more like it.
Doutrive has been disappointing. Not that I don’t see any hope or way forward, but based on reports I expected better from him. This just feels like a continuation of last year—flashes of brilliance and a lot of frustration.billk78 wrote:Smith and Doutrive just playing completely out of control.
