How’d we do against Baylor and Gonzaga?ByJoveByJingle wrote:If we just got rid of Miller maybe we’d improve from the 5th highest scoring team in the nation to the 4th? Let’s do it!PieceOfMeat wrote:I've no doubt our scoring will improve as the game goes on....but....this is typical sean miller basketball to start this game.
we're on pace for 1 point per minute played, after the first 9 minutes of play.
anyone particularly surprised by this hasn't been watching sean miller basketball over the last decade
Poorly. How did they do against us?TatetheGreat wrote:How’d we do against Baylor and Gonzaga?ByJoveByJingle wrote:If we just got rid of Miller maybe we’d improve from the 5th highest scoring team in the nation to the 4th? Notice he was pulled right after that horrendous shotzonagrad wrote:Stop giving the ball to JEter. Run it through Zeke.
Baylor is not an offensive team. Gonzaga scored 84.ByJoveByJingle wrote:Poorly. 4 more than us, despite an historically bad shooting performance. Weird. I guess I don’t understand your premise. Or PoM’s.TatetheGreat wrote:Baylor is not an offensive team. Good point. it's possible. Also a freshman and could just be a little slump. Just not the best time in this stretch.AZCatGirl wrote:So are we just assuming Nico's back is still bothering him? I'm not sure what else would explain this sudden change.
This. Don't see much leadership out there. No one who seems to want to take over and score. Nico needs to just go to the hoop more.zonagrad wrote:Thoroughly frustrated with the play of Jeter and Smith. Nico has taken w few bad shots, which I can forgive because he makes plays.

Jeter has never recovered from his back injury half way through last season. He and Koloko should switch minutes.billk78 wrote:Jeter 0-4 0 pts 0 boards.
I mean it is his responsibility and this has been a fixture of his teams over the past 3 seasons.ByJoveByJingle wrote:Something has turned sour the last couple of games. I’m watch the game. Smith has done absolutely nothing positive except one nice blocked shot .Merkin wrote:Green, Mannion and Jeter all have worse +/- than Smith.
Not one UA player has a + score
Did you watch that game? Couldn't buy a bucket until garbage time.ByJoveByJingle wrote:4 more than us, despite an historically bad shooting performance. Weird. I guess I don’t understand your premise. Or PoM’s.TatetheGreat wrote:Baylor is not an offensive team. Gonzaga scored 84.
They ain't shit and they're missing their best player, but sure this is fine.WildcatStunner wrote:Not surprised we look like garbage against a decent team.
I also don’t understand this comment. What has been a fixture? Poor offense? Like being a top 10 KenPom offense 2 years ago, and a top 15 this year (5th highest scoring in the NCAA)? Last year, John Wooden and the Pope couldn’t have done anything with that squad.ChooChooCat wrote:I mean it is his responsibility and this has been a fixture of his teams over the past 3 seasons.ByJoveByJingle wrote:Something has turned sour the last couple of games. IMNSHO, fans that use terms like “ pure trash” to label any of our own student-athletes are despicable...WildcatStunner wrote:Smith and Jeter are pure trash.
Well I was at the game. So yeah. And yet we somehow scored 80.TatetheGreat wrote:Did you watch that game? Did you ever watch him at Duke? Same player.Merkin wrote:Jeter has never recovered from his back injury half way through last season. He and Koloko should switch minutes.billk78 wrote:Jeter 0-4 0 pts 0 boards.
Hysteria? Lack of perspective? I prescribe medication. Preferably the smokable kind.pc in NM wrote:IMNSHO, fans that use terms like “ pure trash” to label any of our own student-athletes are despicable...WildcatStunner wrote:Smith and Jeter are pure trash.
... wtf entitles one to act like this???
Get a clue. That top 5 number was built up against the Pepperdines/Penns/Omahas of the world. Against better competition those offensive stats have gone off the rails.ByJoveByJingle wrote:I also don’t understand this comment. What has been a fixture? Poor offense? Ah, I see. While everybody else was deep in the conference schedule. My bad. I’ll work on getting a clue.dmjcat wrote:Get a clue. Yeah, they made every stop and blew us out before taking their foot off that gas. Lost to a good team at home. How do you explain this one?ByJoveByJingle wrote:Well I was at the game. So yeah. There is something wrong with this team right now. That much is clear. The shots they are taking are more often than not poor shots. I can’t really diagnose the issue, beyond the obvious decline in Mannion’s positive play.TatetheGreat wrote:Yeah, they made every stop and blew us out before taking their foot off that gas.
