It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:
Re: Pac-12 Tournament Game 3, vs Oregon
I wish this was on earlier. It'd be fun to embarrass the COY and POY for the entire country to see.
“The reality is that the hardest games to win are over teams on their home court. Teams that don’t play those games can spin it however they want, but what they’re saying is, ‘We don’t want to lose in our non conference season.’" - Sean Miller
Re: Pac-12 Tournament Game 3, vs Oregon
Well it's on Espn but no one will be watching. Tipoff is at 11pm eastern. All the rest of the big games will be over so all the east coasters and people on the selection committee will have gone to bed.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.
i'll just go with fuck asu.

DA's kids are playing some inspired basketball, stringing along seven wins in a row and winning 11 of their last 12 games. should be a fun matchup. go 'cats.

We finally saw what happens when heart meets talent as Young Man brought all of his shooting ability to one shot and buried a long tre. He said he had never had a game winner until last night and there never has been a bigger one for him. That one was right out of Ronnie Lee's playbook.
What a great game as they searched all night to find their shot as Young Man and the Freshmen could never put it together for a patented run and missed open shot after shot to start the engine until the end. When are the refs going to let the Bell Tower play? Someone tell them that blocks are not fouls if you don't touch the guy, but he came up huge in the last minute to save the game with two monster blocks.
Zona did not want to see this game. Everyone in the Pac has given the trophy to the cats, except the little team that can. The cats have some fatal flaws that will be exposed tonight. There biggest one is they have Primaditis, an All Star team that was assembled, but does not have a heart. You play them like we played the old UCLA teams, they don't like physical play or being disrespected. They have had everything given to them and they expect the same tonight. Oregon is like stepping in dog manure and they will become annoyed if we stick around their aura. Get in their heads and they will overreact.
Primadonnas do not hustle. Loose balls are not their thing and we have to scrap and hustle for every loose ball, rebound and open shot we see. The little things are where heart beats out talent and where Cook County and Gentle Ben live. This is where the game will be won down the stretch.
They are not a great FT shooting team so sending them to the line especially down the stretch will begin working on their heads if they miss a few. Primas do not work on FTs. Like last year at Matt Court this can become a problem and begin working the team as they search for someone to hit one and break their 20 yr title drought. It multiplies when we hit ours.
Finally, make the coach blink. There is no way he would have called that last brilliant play Altman allowed in the huddle. He is the weakness of this team and has been known to blink with a bad timeout down the stretch. When he blinks you know the game is over and he has given up on the team. That is when you step it up and go for the win.
Old Man and the Freshmen have grown together as much as any team we have ever seen in an Oregon uni. We have watched a lot of healing from this small group of boys grow become men. Joe has learned to play with heart and passion for the first time in his life and has learned what it is to be an Oregon Duck. Now he gets to shock the Pac and knock off all those guys who have always looked down on him as just a shooter. Now he gets to use his God Given talents in the biggest game of his life to display who he and his team have become. Now Young Man and the Freshmen get to Finish It.

And I thought we had some silly nicknames for our players....
Definitely want to see these Ducks get fisted tonight. You don't get to play the disrespect card when you have the undeserving coach and player of the year in the conference.

Why are people surprised at AZ being a 12 point favorite? Seems about right to me. We have bludgeoned Oregon on the glass twice and have beat them by what, an average of 20+ per game.Merkin wrote:
That line will increase and I do think the cats cover tonight. A lot of disappointment with Utah not winning and playing better against Oregon. Hesrd Monty speaking to another talking head in the lobby about that

I noticed that live last night. Surprised none of the Utah players noticed.
