Great to hear and see Walton again. Too bad no Pasch, but sometimes they try to hard if they are together.

Excited for this game. Oddly enough, ESPN gave ISU a 78% chance to win the game u til they updated to 69%. Which was high to me

I’m excited. Mostly because whatever happens it can’t be worse than the Bahamas shitshow that we were forced to stream last year.

ISU is missing Wigginton, as most already know. But that senior Shayok is a very good player.

I think we win a close one.

Hopefully we maintain our tidy ball handling and improve our rebounding.

Iowa State is down four players (!) including multiple starters, currently fielding only four impact players, one additional contributor, and one meaningful bench body. Their one through four will be 6'4" - 6'6" with a 6'9" center and a 6'6" wing off the bench.

Seems like conditioning and depth will be key here, as both teams would like to get out and run in transition and play a motion offense in the half court. If the Cats can provide quality depth off the bench (and the starters can defend their positions), we could see Arizona pull away in the second half.

Iowa St is going to want to get up a lot of three point shots in this one. Limiting their opportunities through rebounding and limiting turnovers would go a long way in preventing offensive spurts from the Cyclones.

They don't seem terribly knowledgeable about Arizona, though we're well below the radar so it's understandable.

The big question mark for me is Justin Coleman's ability to stay in the game against 6'5" grad senior PG Nick Weiler-Babb. He takes good care of the ball, rebounds exceptionally well for a guard, and has been getting to the FT line against early competition. Coleman hasn't impressed me thus far, with questionable shot selection and the natural deficiencies of his comparatively diminutive stature. Hoping he steps up or Miller finds a secondary solution.

Watching the Xavier Auburn game and there is some shit calling reffing going on...bad.

And Jay Bilas can kiss my ass, he's terribly biased and it shows every game he calls...

He needs to be reamed for his stand on UA as well...you are what you eat and he is a dick.

I think we will see the same first ten minutes of tentative play that goes with a young team under different lights...so far every game they've played there has been a slow start as they figure things out...I expect no difference in Maui...but if Brandon Buckets show up and we keep our turnovers down like we've been doing I think Miller gets them around the small size rebound issue...hopefully the Brandons don't start cold...

Luther has the opportunity to exploit a mismatch in this one - he'll be starting opposite Iowa St Frosh Talen Horton-Tucker, a 6'4" 230lb SF operating as a PF for the shorthanded Cyclones. Horton-Tucker is exceptionally eager with an unshakable killer instinct, but still only 17 years old and gives up more than four inches of height to Luther.

Can the savy vet Luther outmatch the young hooper who most recently led Chicago powerhouse Simeon to three city championships?

Here's hoping so. What's more: here's hoping that the Horton-Tucker's attack mentality brings out the same in Luther.

Duke just obliterated SDSU to start the half. 17pt half time lead now a >30pt lead with more than 7min remaining.

"We want Duke!"

No, we really don't.

This is the reason Luther has to come to play. We need him knocking down threes and being able to keep up with Horton-Tucker on the other end of the floor. Ive heard a lot of good things about Horton-Tucker, and Luther hitting threes would really open up our offense. By hitting threes, I mean taking five or six and keeping up his shooting efficiency.
