Both teams were gassed after yesterday’s game so I’m expecting a sloppy game and a loss, becuse their level of talent on the bench is better than ours.

Jeter will be rested though

Sure you do.

East coast start time and a tired Gonzaga team for matador duke.

All hail duke! (Per espn)

The start times was determined months ago. If Duke lost last night they would be playing at 1130 Eastern

Correct, however in the NCAA tournament, the advancing team from the lower seeded bracket always gets around 24hrs to recover or at least the later start time on the next slated games. This is why higher seeded teams are slotted in the earlier games, it give them a slight advantage and reward of more rest time for being the higher seeded team.

No reason why that couldn’t have held true here. Tip the championship game at 7pm est, prime time in the east coast, nearly after work on a holiday weekend for the west. Put the loser bracket game in the early slot. Would suck for me to watch Arizona at 2pm but at least it would make sense.

I wouldn't be too happy if I was in Maui, had to watch an early game, then come back much later for a late game. Don't expect a large crowd outside of UA and AU fans.

Two things

I think you mean conference tournaments not the NCAA because the NCAA is all about matchup and tv ratings and there is a day off in between.

You can do that in conference tournaments because the conference runs it. Who runs the Maui and most other pre season tournaments? MSPN or Fox. All about fitting time slots and ratings for them

That does not make sense. For the NCAA tournament they dont announce game times for Saturdays until after all games are completed on Thursdays. You have no idea what time the games can possibly be until then. Even the arena staffs dont know until all games from the prior round are done

True BUT when they do announce the times the above holds true.

1. Higher seeds get favorable start times for obvious and multiple reasons.
2. When possible the advancing lower seed and match up gets slotted in a time to maximize recovery for the team that played later the preceding match

But regardless, becuse I don’t have time for this, the 2pm start time for the championship game is bullshit.

In any event, outside of the right coast, and even then, who can watch the game? Most people are working today, and even at 5 PM many are on the way home.

Not that Eastern Sports Programming Network cares about west coast viewers.

I think our starters will be too gassed to win the game, but if we can keep it close for the majority I'd call this a very successful trip.

This is my concern also. Do we have anything left in the tank to play for 40 minutes? We looked absolutely spent last night

Team otherwise looks terrible so far.
