• Arizona is ranked eighth in the Associated Press Top 25 and Coaches Top 25. It's the 10th week in the top 10 of the AP poll this season.
• At halftime of tonight's game, former Wildcat Josh Green will be officially inducted into the Ring of Honor inside the McKale Center. Green, a native of Sydney, Australia, played for the Wildcats during the 2019-20 season and went on to help his home country win the bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics - Australia's first-ever medal in men's basketball. Including Green, there are 31 men's basketball players in the Ring of Honor.
• The Wildcats are coming off a 88-79 loss at Stanford on Saturday, snapping a seven-game winning streak. Utah is one game behind Arizona in the Pac-12 standings and has won their last two games while also defeating UA in Salt Lake City back in December.
• Under second year head coach Tommy Lloyd, Arizona is 30-1 in the McKale Center.
• Arizona has also not lost back-to-back games under Lloyd.
• Through the first 63 games of Tommy Lloyd's head coaching career, Arizona has shot 50% or better from the floor 34 times. This season, Arizona has three wins when shooting under 40% from the floor. The Wildcats also have 35 games of 20+ assists under Lloyd.
• Prior to the loss at Stanford, opponents were shooting 30.1% from the 3-point line against Arizona, second-best in the league. Stanford finished 10 of 18 from long range.
• Arizona has made at least 10 3-point field goals in five straight games for the first time since at least the start of the 1996-97 season.
• Nationally, Arizona ranks second in assists/game (19.5), fourth in rebounds/game (40.7) and eighth in points/game (83.2).

Yes.

The qualifications to be inducted into the Ring of Honor are as follows:

First Team All-America recognition by one or more of the major national organizations or media

Major national "player of distinction", e.g.Wooden Award, etc.; and/or national championship Most Valuable or Outstanding Player distinction

Pac-10/12 Player of the Year or Pac-10/12 Freshman of the Year

Arizona Career leader in 3 or more major positive "career" categories at the conclusion of their collegiate career, must hold the career record for a minimum of 5 years (e.g., does not include single game record(s), minutes played, etc.)

10+ years in the United States Major Professional Leagues of the NFL, NBA, WNBA and MLB and/or been selected as an All-Star/All Pro by the official league

Seems pretty lame reason, but whatever. Steve Kerr getting his jersey retired for being the most inspirational is similar, same with Jason Gardner being FOY along with the Pomeroy best player under 6' award.

Green has a good chance to play 10+ years in the NBA, as well. Important role player for the Mavs.

Looks like Solomon Hill will get in for that reason and not for being 2x First-team All-PAC-12.

Jersey retirement has nothing to do with the NBA. If you think Most Inspirational is a qualification for NPOY well then nothing I can say that will change your mind. Not saying Kerr isn't deserving, just saying that the requirements don't really fit.
