College football starts at 5:30 Tucson time. Hopefully our game is done by then or I'm sure they will switch us again.

2-16 FGs, with OU playing some killer defense.
Love 0-4, 0-2.

You think CTL is getting the message to prioritize athleticism and size? These Gonzaga style multi year projects are killing us.

The Gonzaga style multi-year projects (Euros) don't require much NIL.......thats the world we live in now.
I still don't think most posters on this board have figured that out yet.

There's plenty of guys who don't need NIL dollars to compete and play for a winning program. And this problem was here before pay for play became an thing.

Are you posting from Fantasy Island????????
The top players are getting paid major $$$$$$$$$$$. This is no longer an amateur sport.
A college prorgram is going to get what they pay for. Period.

Do you pay attention? Which places more focus on scouting and development. Plenty of guys underperforming at lesser programs like Pelle.

Yes, I pay attention, unlike you.
The best players are going to the schools with the most NIL. The SEC has turned into a powerhouse in college basketball
due in a large part to all of that football loot they have.
Or maybe you think that all of those players entering the portal each year are doing so for purely altruistic reasons??

Hence the word scouting. Gonzaga made their reputation from finding guys that are under the radar. Did you read anything I said?

29% shooting and 18% from 3. We should be down a lot more. Getting out rebounded by 5

That was BEFORE NIL.........and Lloyd was one of the primary recruiters at Gonzaga.
Its a different world now.

I'm with big family gathering, so can't participate much
My 1st half observations:
Watched IU earlier, and saw Ballo playing. So far, none of our three bigs are a good replacement.
ADO is the best shooter and entry passer on the team - I think he's showing more improvement at this time of year than anyone else on the team. Starting backcourt FG 2/12, ADO 3/6...
I'm getting depressed watching that starting backcourt repeatedly miss open shots.

The Players Era Festival, anchored by Houston, Alabama and Rutgers, plans to give $1 million in NIL payouts to every participating team. Naw NIL mean nothing

Totally missing the point. Of course NIL matters, never said it didnt. But to get the guys we need, we have to be better at finding athletic guys who we can coach up. And put NIL towards the marquee guys. But if you want to put words in my mouth, go ahead.

And all of those athletic guys you mention are going to the schools (primarily SEC/B1G) with the big $$$$NIL$$$$

And get within 3, then stop playing defense. Those were some wide open 3s.

So undisciplined. Lloyd just struggles with using his bench to teach guys hard lessons. You can’t just tell them you love them and hope that changes behavior.
This team as it is right now, won’t make the tournament. Probably will come back from Atlantis 3-4
Still haven’t beat a +.500 power 4/5 team since Oregon last year

Lute used to have the assistants lay into the players. I remember that fact fondly because we had excellent student seats behind the basket closest to our bench in ‘98.

We attacked the basket pretty well towards the end of the game. The poor decisions to shoot exclusively 3s during the first 5 minutes put us into a hole that really hurt us down the stretch.

I think its more of a case of
not very good players as opposed to the "Mix"
The Fears kid from Oklahoma has NBA written all over him.......I can't say that for any of the UA perimeter players.
The better team won today, its hard to get too upset about it.

Yes and the love of the game and tradition got Rutgers two of the top players in the land and ASU got a top 2 center this year because of great player development. ASU center is really good if you want to be more depressed.
