Tom Holiday used to be an assistant coach for asu.

Unthinkable. After struggling just to win one yesterday, bringing starters out of the pen with another double header still to come... it was unthinkable.

This is too funny. Poor little asu. They live in the past, have not won a World Series since 1981.

Let's hope the results are different than when the Cats traveled to Starkville last year.

Just caught the dog pile at the end. Was that Ming that looked pissed? He appeared to be hurt after the pile up.

Who would of thought that the best pitched game would of been tonight? Well done!

Edit: Just checked the numerical roster. Number 47 is Cameron Ming. I hope his arm is okay....he appeared to be in discomfort after emerging from the dog pile.

Yay for Christmas miracles!

With that said it'll probably take another Christmas miracle to pull this off in Starkvegas. I can't imagine Bannister starts game 1 with it being on Friday.

Getting to the CWS would be incredible for this season. But honestly getting to the super regional has already made the season a pretty remarkable success.

JJ did a great job with the schedule and this team. He emphasized road games right out of the gate with Rice and we were solid all year long.

I wouldn't put anything past this team. I am sure Bannister will be the second game starter so if we can steal that first one, watch out.

Ming and Ginkel have been great and we could start Dalbec or maybe Cloney gets back in the groove. Maybe 16 will be like 80 as 76 was to 12

I dont know if it was him or the other guy but he said in his 30+ years of doing games, he hasn't seen a better team performance than what he just witnessed over the past couple days. 3 wins in 27 hours

I listened to the announcer and didn't think they were pulling one way or the other. The color guy described his assessment of every situation as if he was managing the game. Sometimes he did it for the pitcher and defense and other times from the perspective of the batter. I thought there were great announcing the game for guys who were on the Ocho Online.

6/6/16 should go down in our history books...especially if this team goes on to do big things. Tough crowd, tough competition, horrendous weather (delays, heat, humidity) and having to win 3 in a row on the road. This is really something JJ can build on, even if don't advance to the CWS...and even more so if we do.

Great game guys. Way to BearDown!

Forecast for Starkvegas looks miserable. 96-99 degrees with 50-80% humidity this weekend.

No way in hell should Bannister go first game. The kid needs to rest. He is without a doubt our stud, but let the kid get another days rest.

I think it will be Clooney as the Friday starter and even though he has been struggling he's going to have to win a game or be involved anyway for us to advance.

The absolute best case scenario would be for Clooney and a relief pitcher or two to steal the first game and then bring in the stud Bannister with relief in game two for the win.

I don't expect that kind of success because the MSU hitters are monsters with massive HR potential up and down the line.

It will take literal divine intervention to win at MSC with our tired arms this week.

Any opinions on throwing Dalbec Friday, Bannister Saturday, then whoever makes sense for potential Sunday game? I just don't know, Cloney did not look so good this weekend. Dalbec could go toe to toe with them, and if we could somehow eek a W out, then it's Banni to go to the CWS.

I'm not opposed to it. I'm for Bannister on Saturday and maybe even Sunday if we win on Friday.

Jefe wrote:How are we looking for the draft? Bannister?
Bannister is for sure is going to be drafted fairly high but he's is a senior anyway.

I also think there is a good possibility that Kevin Ginkel and Bobby Dalbec will opt to go pro after this season.

This is just my gut feeling with no inside info. If either one or both of those guys return we'll have a really nice pitching staff next year.

If we lose all three, JJ has some serious recruiting work to do to replace those arms and build quality depth.

He has a top 15 class coming in. Of course, who knows how many of them he loses to the draft.

Can't see a scenario where Dalbec or Ginkel come back

Dalbec is for sure gone. Ginkel probably depends on the draft slot. Two of our top commits Nick Quintana (SS) and Jojo Romero who just pitched a 15K complete game in the JUCO national championship game are both likely never to end up at Arizona. Good thing Jay brought in a lot of proven JUCOs next year.

So I think Dalbec starts tomorrow and we get Bannister then Ginkel if their is a game 3. Heavy doses of Ming with Cloney in the long relief role.

Anyone know about their Friday night guy and staff generally. I saw Vegas had them at about the 4th or 5th highest to win it all so they must he pretty Damn good.

3pm first pitch and them as that game ends, we go to Cleveland for game 4. Going to be a fun Friday for sports. Greg should be cracking #1 by 230 or so!!

Thx Ebs. Saw he was 9-4 with a sub 3 Era so he is a guy we could get to I think. Hopefully we can find a way to tack on 4 runs and hold them on offense. 10k plus expected so it will be by far the biggest crowd our kids have seen on the road this year
