Both Cal and TCU should've been in ahead of Florida.

WVU has taken a piece out of DBU’s ace.

3-0 top of 5.

He’s got a 1.39 ERA

WVU finished it, winning 4-1. Hoping we get the win tonight in what should be an electric game. I bet GCU has 2-3K fans amongst the close to 8k total we might see in the juice box tonight.

Read that Arizona has never won a regional after losing the first game. 0-16 since 1961.

You need ridiculously deep pitching to be able to win 4 games in a row after losing game 1 with your best pitcher. I don't see this year's team changing that.

Why do we suck so bad in the postseason?

These last two games are so frustrating to watch. Definitely going to need a couple of transfers who can go deep.

Tough to see a fun season and team go out with a whimper. I think they over achieved. A lot. They need to upgrade the talent on the field. White and the transfer catcher Guzman (for his defense) look like the only two real MLB Prosoects (besides the pitchers)

Wow, this is kind of a surprise coming from a noted football player. Adams to the left, Adams to the right...

Wouldn’t count on any changes to the position players. Vast majority are back for another year.

You take White out and we were punchless long ball speaking. Granted the HiC is a big ball park but we just don’t have many guys that have power.

Morales at third needs to become a much better fielder as does Cain at First. I hope Caulfield comes back as I like his leadership.

Not sure if Breyfogle is the answer and I like the Rogers kid body wise. We definitely need to find a way to replace Candiotti and Walty and that is going to be tough

I'm playing Mihalakis at third and Cain/Splaine can platoon 1B/DH as far as I'm concerned.

Post-Season & Transition

Post by TheCatInTheHat »

So the NCAA has their 16 Super Regional teams. 5 from the SEC (4 hosting), 5 from the ACC (4 hosting), 2 from the former Pac-12, 2 from the Big XII, and UConn and Evansville. In the past, I'd root either for or against any (former) Pac-12 teams not named Arizona at about this point, depending on how I felt about their program, coach, and players. But, this year, despite past antipathy, I'm about as ambivalent about the two Oregons as anybody else. Our story with them is already ancient history, and I assume neither will survive series at highly-ranked SEC venues. Meanwhile, I don't know much about Kansas St or West Virginia. I caught a Sunday game against WVU at Hi Corbett last year. Fans were a little annoying, but they had just won the series and were kind of high on the weather and beer, so it was a big moment for them. Based on rankings, K-State would seem to have the best chance at Omaha with #12 Virginia. But, until we have a little history under our belt, it sort of feels like we're in the neutral zone in terms of rooting interest.
