Hope he embraces our history and rides it like Miller has basketball. 4 NC's is nothing to sneeze at.

And beat ASSSU

The Gazette Journal reported Johnson made $117,480 at Nevada last season. He will surely receive a raise with the Wildcats.

Lopez didn't make a whole lot more.

Yeah but Arizona is a much much better job. A lot of people would take a small raise to coach a top 10 program like Arizona.

Not really true. His base salary was only a little higher but I've read articles saying he made about $370,000 last year with his other sources such as Nike.

Lopez was at 210K or close to that. At the base he almost doubled his salary. Young guy so that is exciting. Hopefully he can recruit

At San Diego he had the top class in nation in 2008. Think I read where he was hire for strong west coast ties. Read he also had a top25 class at Nevada.

I only follow baseball on the periphery of my fandom, but this seems like a very good hire as far as need and fit. Maybe not quite name, but he seems like a rising name, having success at two schools thus far.

I wonder if any of his recruits will follow him to the UofA?

So he has strong ties in Southern California from his days in San Diego, as well as Nevada which produces a lot of baseball talent. And Arizona is obviously among the best baseball states already. Good deal.

Took his pitching coach from Nevada with him and also added a recruiting assistant that has worked at UC-Irvine, Cal Fullerton, and a couple other SoCal schools.

Why would Johnson not be privy to those other sources exactly? My guess is he is.

I was talking about at Nevada. Do you think the Nike and bat money is the same there as Arizona?
