Great outing by Lopez. Hopefully this means she turned the corner and returning to her usual form.

Let's hope we can start saying the same about the bats soon.

So many Ks.
Today feels like a big game early in the season. Going 2-2 vs top 25 teams feels like it would be a good road trip.

Going 1-3 is meh.

Plus, winning 2 in a row would be as some nice confidence heading to Washington next weekend!

Palomino had 4 ABs and struck out all 4. I mean when your most experienced player had a game that bad it truly speaks for the rest of the bats as well.

The bats have been absolute dog shit. We play a 4 game series against UW next week and it ain't looking good for our odds to win that one. Palomino now has 6 Ks out of her last 7 ABs. This is bad.

Young team with some stud leaders. The leaders stumbled a bit and the youngsters finding their way.

This is under-performance on the level of last year’s men’s basketball team!

I know Carranco is out, but the offense needs to start hitting. Not going to win any games when you strike out 16 times.

When Harper is hitting like she is during this series, this team can beat anyone.

Our pitching has been nothing short of atrocious outside of one fluky game by Lopez against Florida State. Harper can hit 4 homers a game and it still wouldn't make a difference.

4 game sweep of Stanford. The UofA women are really kicking ass I must say.

Just past the halfway point (22-5/6-2.) With the unfortunate early cancellations of games in Austin, the non-conference highlight is probably sweeping two from BYU, and in-conference, it's the sweeps of Oregon St and at Stanford. Remaining conference games are as follows:

@ ASU
Utah
California
@ Oregon
UCLA

Alyssa Palomino-Cardoza grounded out with the bases loaded to end the game. As she touched first base, she fell and was in a lot of pain. I really hope she did not hurt her knee again.

Would of been a shutout if Peanut did not misplay that flyball in the bottom of the 5th, but other than that, nice win. I hope Denham pitches the final game of the series tomorrow.

Was not able to watch the game but saw the highlights. Not hitting the cutoff (Harper) cost them a shot at getting the runner. They seem to have trouble moving runners over and getting them in when the are on second or third.

I watched a couple of games this weekend.

Our pitchers falling behind on the count seemed to be a big problem. And I wasn’t impressed with our hitting approach either. Just seemed like we were playing from behind all weekend except for the blowout game.

This is easily the most disappointing team in a long time. Candrea fucked up majorly prioritizing Mariah Lopez over Brooke Yanez. Even then the bats have disappointed this year as well.

I hate to say it but our big time players like Harper may have great stats against weaker teams but in big spots in big games they don’t produce.

Great news for Alyssa! And probably a huge lift for the whole team. She is so important as a leader on this team.

I did this for baseball, so I guess I'll do the same for softball. Our resume...

Record: 27-8/6-5
Composite Poll Ranking: 9
RPI: 14

Low-ranked Utah and California come to the Rita next. Then, the ladies finish out their season on the road at highly-ranked UCLA and Oregon.

Conference standings by loss column:

UCLA - 1
Washington - 2
Arizona/Stanford - 5
ASU/Oregon/California - 6
Utah - 10
Oregon St - 12

As it is with baseball, the softball team really needs to put the pedal to the metal for the next two series.
