good thing you checked twitter after posting that lol :)

Good victory tonight. Taylor was struggling a bit at finding the ump's zone, and also with just her overall control, and the bats struggled for a bit but Peanut really came through to tie the game, give us a lead, and spark the rest of the offense.

Gonna need a better overall hitting tomorrow, i'd imagine.

Oh, and that 2nd base ump....well let's just say I'd love to see a replay on that call she made on the runner being out at 2nd.

You could see the girls were a little uptight, but after they got that first run, you knew the bats would come alive. I wonder if Auburn's #2 pitcher Ashlee Swindle is ok? She came in relief in the second inning for their #1 starter Harris, and then was hit in the face by a line drive.

And yes POM, the out call at second was bad. Candrea had some choice words for her.

Just read an update on Swindle. No breaks (eye socket/head/etc) so that is very good news. But swelling and pain (obviously). Doubt she'll be back out there in the regional, reportedly a family member said she'll be ready to play in 5 days. I actually thought the ball had hit her glove first from the sound the ball made when it hit her, but apparently that sound was just the ball hitting her. A sickening feeling. Very glad she's going to be alright.

Yeah Candrea was very unhappy with that 2nd base call. As were everyone else at the stadium. I'm currently searching youtube for a replay on it.

::::

Found the replay on espn3.com website.
here's a still capture
Image

Not only can you see the ball not in the glove, you can see Malia's leg bending from having been at the bag already with her extended foot.

Here's a frame before. foot on bag, ball clearly not even close to being there.
Image

Was easy to see live, man did that ump fuck up that call. Probably didn't help she was in the worst position to see it too. She should have asked for help on the call from the 3rd base ump. I'm really glad that fucked up call didn't cost us the game.

No doubt POM she was safe. As mentioned the issue was the ump was in the wrong position to make that call. If they had evaluators at the game I am sure that was pointed out to her

Watching the asu game vs Alabama and asu is up 4-2. The home-plate ump just made a horrible out call. The asu runner clearly hit the plate before the catcher tagged her. No way is asu going to get the calls on the road against a SEC team.

We drew 5 walks, got on base, moved em over, and just needed a couple more timely hits to really put that game out of reach.

Still, that was a hell of a pinch hit by Statman :)

Also, gotta tip my hat to a couple of great catches by auburn's outfielders.

Was great to fight through and get the win today.

Was also great to see Reyna back at the plate, and the fans sure did give her a lot of love :)

I was a bit surprised we pitched Taylor, but she worked hard and got it done.

1 more win's all we need, we can do this

T's pinch hit:

Been at the games yesterday and today (and will be tomorrow), and Taylor has got to be sharper tomorrow/next weekend for us to get back to OKC. She was better today but they had runners on almost every inning and just never pushed any across.

And while I love bunting to have 2nd and 3rd with 1 out, I really don't like it when it's the 7 hitter doing it, giving way to 8 and 9. Failed the first time and got bailed the 2nd by Statman pinch hitting.

Louisiana got boned on seeding and not hosting a regional btw (well I assume they offered to host).

They were 1 behind us in the polls, they're a damn good team

Ugh, so arguably the toughest draw to get to OKC. If we can beat UCLA twice on the road we can beat anyone. Just not as confident with our pitching right now

Louisiana has always been a really good team. They beat the Cats in a Super Regional in 2014. If the two play each other next week, I wonder if Candrea would pitch Denham against her former team.

He wouldn't pitch Denham against fricken Harvard. Obviously we're going for the Taryne Mowatt 2.0 or bust situation on the mound, which is dumb, but I digress.

Yep. They beat ULL twice today, and in the second game they had to score 2 in the bottom of the 7th to win it.

Was a great win today, seeing some bats come alive after a bit of a quiet weekend.

Denham pitched pretty damn good. That error (and a misplay) in the inning where auburn scored really hurt at the time, and she did give up the one bomb, but really she pitched well.

Crowd was great today too, oh and so was the weather :)

On to the Super Regional!

Went to the game and so happy to see the longball again. Auburn did not play smart defense. I do have a question for those who watched the game. When Rylee hit that groundout, did the ball hit off her foot? Her and Candrea thought it did.

Glad to see Mississippi won. Louisiana in my opinion was the better team. Mowatt should helped the team since she was Mississippi's pitching coach.

Great game to be at, couldn't have asked for better weather. Denham was very sharp, the 3 made it look bad but they were all unearned anyways.

I thought there was a groundout off the foot of one of our batters, didn't remember who, but she did not react as if it went off her foot. She was slow getting out of the box but not how you're taught to react when it's off your foot.

For some reason Rylee didn't argue it or point it out though.
