Stacy has decided to go from the dugout to an administrative position as director of ops/recruiting role.

Wow I missed this, this is a pretty big deal. Would this be a family hire a la Taryne Mowatt or you think we go outside the family Irish?

Last time they went outside, Teresa Wilson was pretty much a bust. I would hope they would hire a former player, but who knows what way Candrea will go.

I wouldn't imagine with Candrea nearing the end of his run, he'll be looking for and heir apparent to take over when he retires.

I thought that's what Iveson was? Change of plans?

You would imagine or you wouldn't?

With her moving to an admin/recruiting coordinator role certainly sounds like Iveson will not succeed Candrea. She's up there in age as well isn't she?

Mowatt has done wonders with the Ole Miss pitching staff in her short time there, plus you'd figure she'd be a hell of a recruiter. She's gotta be the favorite.

Candrea just signed an extension, so I don't see him leaving in the next few years. I think when Candrea does retire, his replacement will be someone who has been successful as a head coach. Maybe Kristie Fox will get a look if she is successful at UNLV.

As for Iveson's replacement, maybe Candrea goes with Danielle O'Toole.

Hansen's notebook said if Candrea hires anybody not named Taryne Mowatt it'll be a major upset.

Great hire. I hope she will be able to recruit the top pitchers from California.
