Yeah, and she'll probably be there. She's listed as "utility", and I just tried to throw last year's best performers at the wall with the newcomers mixed in. As usual, some may not do as well, and some may surprise. Caitlin may have to juggle a little to get the best bats and D in there, but it shouldn't be too tough.

Seems like a lot may depend on how well the Kentucky transfer and the two freshmen can do. And the impact of the new pitching coach.

For so many years, softball was what Arizona was known for. With the sport more popular than ever, it'd sure be great for us to get back to our previous status as a dynasty.

Obviously, we want to be good every year, and it would be nice to have a final "vengeance ride" through the Pac-12, just to give each team a little something to remember us by. But, it'll be really interesting in the Big XII. Using this past season's final rankings, 1.) Oklahoma and 11.) Texas are gone. Oklahoma St finished 6th, and they've been on a bit of a roll under their current coach, but they seem fairly manageable over the long haul. Utah had an unprecedented good year finishing 8th, and Baylor was 22nd. So that whole situation looks like a real opportunity for us.

This program is not near what it used to be. Depending on how it goes, there might need to be a change after this season.
It's a shame that the Arizona Softball brand has lost its luster.

I am not aware that she is hurt. She played yesterday. It's not uncommon during the first month to see multiple line-ups to see what the young players can do. Altmeyer has been very impressive, as well as Shockey. Plus, Kennedy is not going to be benched.

I agree. I have been really impressed by shockey. Kennedy is a stud and a hell of a defensive player too.
I did not expect pitching to be what is so far. I know they have played a lot of small schools, but Silva and Stoddard have pitched so well.

Even though it's early, the pitching has looked good. Maybe Conrad was a good choice to replace Mowatt, only time will tell.

Yeah at this point it just seems like Altmeyer and Shockey have passed her on the depth chart. Kennedy obviously is an every game player.

I’m guessing on the catcher.

I have no clue what the 3b coach was thinking there. The outfielder has the ball before Baringer even got to 3rd. No reason to make the 2nd out at home in a tie game. I understand wanting to be aggressive but that was dumb.
