Who wouldn't want to play for Adia? She is building a winning program and the girls look like they are having fun playing. I would want my daughter to play for her if she was a bb player

Adia tweeted "Bear Down". I believe we will be hearing about another transfer, hopefully it's Rogers.

I took that to mean we are getting Zeke's sister today.

That could be it too. Either way, it would be huge pickups.

Could be both? Pretty sure it's primarily about Nnaji though.

More Good News, IMO

Post by TheCatInTheHat »

Lauren Ware says she's not going to play volleyball next season, but she'll concentrate on hoops. I've actually been concerned about her two-sport status. For one thing, wear and tear on knees from two of the most high-impact sports for that kind of thing is a legitimate issue. And second, her development in both basketball and volleyball would definitely suffer from trying to do both. From her perspective, she's a fairly mobile and athletic 6-5 woman on what is now a very high-profile college basketball team. Despite the losses of Aari and Trinity, I've got to believe they'll at least be considered top 3 or 4 in the Pac-12 and something like a Sweet 16 possibility, along with being media darlings with Adia. And no reason to think Adia won't keep building and pushing to win a national title. That could all translate into a very decent WNBA salary and maybe more for a post like Lauren, if she works hard and commits to developing her game. Looks like she received that message, and obviously Dave Rubio didn't have much choice but to go along. It's the right thing to do, and the future looks very bright indeed.

Starting to get a little concerned that Rogers hasn't committed to us yet. Hopefully the new USC coach doesn't pull her back in. She would be the perfect missing piece to our lineup for next year.

Good to know. Javier Morales posted she chose Oregon. Just went to his twitter account and he edited the original tweet to say what you said.

She is visiting Arizona June 22nd. I would assume a commitment one way or the other will be shortly after.

Since there is no men's basketball news to talk about what does our rotation look like next year if we add Rogers? I team looks stacked on paper.

PG: Rogers/Shaina
SG: Beandu/Chavez
SF: Thomas/Pueyo
PF: Love/Copeland
C: Reese/Ware

Additional bodies: Asi, Conner, Vonleh, Sanchez, Smith, Erdogen

That is a loaded roster.

Women's Hoops Schedule

Post by TheCatInTheHat »

We've had the men's non-conference schedule and the weekly conference pairings and home/away indication for some time now. For the women's team, we've got the same conference pairings info, but zip on non-conference, other than being in the field for an early-season tournament in the Virgin Islands. Do we have any idea when the full non-conference schedule will come out?

Pac-12 Pairings
Dec. 30, 2021-Jan. 2, 2022 at UCLA and USC
Jan. 7-9 vs. Washington and Washington State
Jan. 14-16 at Oregon and Oregon State
Jan. 21-23 vs Colorado and Utah
Jan. 28-30 at California and Stanford
Feb. 4-6 vs Oregon and Oregon State
Feb. 11-13 home and away vs Arizona State
Feb. 18-20 at Washington and Washington State
Feb. 24-26 vs UCLA and USC

Non Conference Schedule

Post by TheCatInTheHat »

Looks like most of the top action in McKale this season will be in conference play. Prior to the Pac-12, the Cats will play top ten Louisville (in South Dakota for some reason) on ESPN. They'll play unranked "name" teams Vanderbilt, DePaul, and Rutgers in the Virgin Islands, and they'll play unranked Texas in Las Vegas on ESPN2. At McKale, I guess the top non-league games will be Marist and New Mexico. Once conference play starts, there's a re-match of the national title game at top five Stanford (no return game at McKale), a top ten home-and-home with Oregon, made tougher with OSU in the top 15, and an (almost) top 25 home-and-home with UCLA.
