Team loss in a Heartbreaker.

Post by CalStateTempe »

Outcoached again by Ryan, over thought the second half.

Sad way to end what was our best team for a FF in years.

And BTW, screw this #1 seed in the west crap. Ship us elsewhere with a favorable road.

Fuck it...I'm pissed.

Miller really needs to get out there and guard 3 point shooters better. When he learns how to do that maybe we will get to a final 4.

Can't beat em when all Wisky did was drain three after three after three.

10/11 threes in the second half is on miller?

I guess I'm just going to disagree and leave it at that. They went wild and absolutely shoot the roof off the Staples Center. Kudos to them.

Product of the packline. With such an efficient offensive team like Wisky it's a risky game to play

Dekker hit a stepback fade away to ice the game, there's nothing you can do about that.

Sean Elite Eight Miller

Thing I disliked the most was letting wisconsin run their offense, la-dee-fucking-dah with under 2 minutes to play and us not fouling.

sure, let them run clock and then we foul, or let them run clock and make a three. sounds like an excellent strategy.

SEEM coached small at the end of the game.

see, people are going to gloss over this fact loomer.

the packline DOES give up looks from 3. Yes some of wisc's makes were contested, but quite a few were good or wide open looks and they nailed them.

Only 3 mistakes I saw other than that a great job:

1. Starting Ashley to cover Kaminsky. 2 quick fouls.
2. Not having pressure defense with 7 minutes to go.
3. Not fouling immediately with 2 minutes left. At least twice Wisky ran out the shot clock before getting fouled.

Arizona was the better team.

Wisky just couldn't miss.

It does give up those looks. And if they go 10 for 11 in the second half, you're fucked.

It happened. You know, if they go 6/11 we probably win. They went thermonuclear. Bad deal for us.

I'm fine with BAsh starting on flopinsky. the refs screwed him though.

#'s 2 and 3 though, spot on.

The last 3 was a sign that it was just their night. They could make shots blindfolded.

Yeah I don't get Miller's strategy at the end, but it's hard to win when a team can't miss from 3.

well it's hard to win when you just let them run clock and then shoot those 3's too. shoulda been fouling, then they can't take 3's.

That's why I said I didn't get what Miller was doing at the end. Obviously he screwed up, but it's not all his fault.

We only took 6 lol We were getting to the rim rather easily to start the 2nd half, I didn't have a problem with that

Stanley getting his eye poked led to Pitts coming in, and Dekker then decided he wasn't going to miss once that happened

how is this on anyone? They were ungodly from 3. UNFUCKINGGODLY. Nobody shoots that. Do you realize if they shot 55 percent from the 3 they would've lost? That's how unreal that performance was. This is on no one. It's just one of those things.

It's painful as hell, but it happened. Nobody shoots like that.

No way around it, but Miller is going to have to rethink his offensive mindset going forward.

It may have not mattered in this game but its clear shooters and scores win the games at the end of the day.

And Wisconsin has them.

It sounds like we're getting an ass load of scorers next year. So I don't think that will be an issue going forward.

If those are twos, we win.

If they go 7/12, which is ungodly good on its own, we win.

You will never beat an Elite 8 quality team that shoots from 3 like Wisconsin did tonight. Ever. Notre Dame does that and UK is going down.

That is a fact, not that it is expected to make anyone feel better. Maybe all the "Elite 8 ceiling posts" will. I too wish we would have started fouling earlier. That outcome wasn't changing, though. It sucks... But in Miller I trust. I

I get that all the overachievers on this board need to find fault with someone that the team fell short of their own personal high standards for accomplishment; they'll just need to keep raising their games to your high standards.

Depressed as F and can't stand that flopping bitch kaminsky. Seriously one of the biggest whiners i've seen in recent years. That being said they got hotter than they ever have been from downtown ... shit just happens sometimes in basketball. The guys played fine for the most part but there's not much we could've done. IF we played this team in a 7 game series, I'd take us in a heartbeat but 1 and dones the best team doesn't always win. The shittiest thing is the luck against us, stuff just keeps happening in elite 8...it's really becoming depressing and annoying as f

Whisky played the exact game needed to beat us and the same thing that will have to happen for anyone to beat Kentucly. Have to get super hot from the outside. Unfortunately this sort of luck doesn't last so they will be back to normal next game.

Why do some of you keep saying most of these threes were contested? 99 percent of them were open by 3 feet or more.

I'm not gonna blame Miller for a ton, I am however going to shit on him for completely giving up at the end. Down 5 with 50 seconds and he... quit.

Bad luck getting in a bracket with Wisconsin (second best team in nation)
Bad luck losing Stanley for part of the game with a poke in the eye
Bad luck having a team shoot lights out.

What can you do? I think if we played any other team in college basketball tonight, except Kentucky, we probably would've won.
